yeah while one piece does show the brutality of pirates through people like arlong, crocodile and others, you can never get the full scale due to one piece being a shounen, so whenever civilians in one piece show their absolute hatred towards pirates you just brush it off as them being irrational towards the straw hats while 90% of pirates do behave like askeladds crew, you just never see it

It's so horrible watching Thorfinn disappear and be consumed by his need for vengeance. There will always be those that will glorify his descent into this pit, but it's such a saddening thing to see, especially because it's the exact opposite of the lesson Thors tried to teach him and I think he knows it too, unfortunately for him avenging his father is too important to give up on.

Vikings were traders, navigators, sailors & craftsmen too. The narrative that Vikings only killed and abducted is cherry picking propaganda by British chroniclers (hence the horned helmet depictions persisting in pop culture to demonize them - which isn't historically accurate).

Man I remember crying during the scene when Thorfinn got his first kill. How much it pained him and the gradual cracks at his innocence which was highlighted throughout the episode. I can only imagine what Thors could be thinking looking down on his son and his quest for vengeance.

I'm so glad you decided to watch Vinland Saga. After finishing the second season and now rewatching it for the first time, its such an amazing story and I can't wait to see what you think!
