Wow. 2 more and you’ll be caught up. What a journey. I’ve really enjoyed this little mini arc with Kawaki and seeing how he’d fair as a ninja. It’s something that the anime is known to do is play up on a tease that the manga couldn’t expand on and do it themselves. It also helps that the manga has implied there’s been multiple times jumps so the anime has a lot to work with. Plus more Kawaki + Iwabe content is fine by me lol

I think compensation as a motivation for Kawaki is less about making money and more about what the money symbolizes. Kawaki has never had his own money. It lets him make his own choices and gain some freedom. He is so surprised to get money and when he does, he ends up doing exactly what Boruto did a few episodes ago and buying taiyaki for the family. So I think the money as motivation is less like it was with ChoCho and Inojin. Money is freedom and greater control over his life. It was a little sad that when he was feeling good again and had brought food home for the family that was when things had reached a limit for Boruto. In any case, I think this is a good use of money as motivation.

really loving this Kawaki development and a great little mini arc. I think Hinata pretty much summed up what everyone was failing to understand - that is, Kawaki was alone for most of his life and lacks social understanding which is what Naruto wants him to learn by working with others and going on missions. Kawaki obviously cares for others (such as when he made a point to buy taiyaki not just for himself but for the Uzumakis) but he just needs more time to learn about himself and others.

From little Kawaki trying to gain money to buy liquor for his dad to now gaining money to share his fave snack with the family, the latter is his independent choice.

I feel like alot of people alway forget the fact that being a shinobi is a JOB. I have seen alot of comments lately about "They went from fighting an alien god to stopping petty bandits" when that is what shinobi do literally 98% of the time anyway. I love how they made the lady who gives out missions her own unique design to kind of stress this. (Even if I forgot her name)

I also can't seem to get the video to play that's a bummer
