Conrad only got Belly that necklace for her last birthday – it was reminiscent of some convo they had when they were kids, but he hadn't gotten her the gift 'til last year. But I agree with you that it really doesn't matter WHO liked Belly first. All that really matters is who treats her better, if the connection is real, etc. The Bonrad flashback was really interesting, depending on what perspective you look at it from. Conrad was a fifteen year old teenage boy, so him being utterly clueless to how Belly felt seems pretty typical, especially if he doesn't have feelings for her at that time. And it's ESPECIALLY interesting when you juxtapose that memory with the Jelly flashback. The choice to spend time together that whole week, just the two of them, was so freaking cute. And it's not unsual for them because they've always been friends, unlike that flashback with Bonrad where Belly had been so excited because that was the first time Conrad wanted to spend time alone with Belly. But the little hand touch between Jeremiah and Belly in their flashback sort of implied that maybe there had always been /something/ that was a little more than friendship unconsciously building between them.

Oh yeah they just talked about the infinity when they were younger I got it mixed up lol. Conrad seemed to have felt something for Belly during the flashback carnival scene even if it was just the beginnings of a feeling because he had fond memories of that polar bear stuffed animal and was again confused in the present that she didn’t have the same fond memory. He was disappointed that she chose the giraffe instead so that told me he had a good time with her in that flashback. But he still couldn’t understand in the present that she didn’t have fond memories of that day so he’s still a bit clueless in my book.
