The first version of the Cybermen were from the planet Mondas. They were introduced in the First Doctors final serial. In subsequent stories they were more metallic;but Capaldi liked their first 'look' (very much a low-budget,but strangely effective,'sock over the head') and asked Moffat to bring them back. This is the result. For me,it's Moffat's masterpiece. I think it was brave of him to kill Bill off,as NewWho companions never seem to be allowed to die. The Classic series wasn't always so kind to companions.

I just finished your reaction to the first part and I'm about to watch your reaction to the second part. I know for a fact that you're gonna have very mixed feelings about this finale which I'm sure will go against the popular opinions that people have on this finale so I'm very curious and looking forward to your thoughts on the last episode. As for this episode, I think this one is great particularly because there's a nice bit of horror element with the Cybermen in the hospital. They harkened back to the first version of the Cybermen in Classic Who and made them effectively creepy. Normally Steven Moffat's Cybermen episodes are really awful in my opinion but this one of the few exceptions where I think he handles them very well. I'm glad you weren't spoiled on John Simm's return as The Master as many viewers who watched Series 10 during broadcast got spoiled on this because of trailers including me and I didn't even watch Series 10 during its broadcast. As for Bill turning into a Cybermen, I think I'll give my thoughts about that in your next reaction. It works effectively as a cliffhanger bombshell for The Doctor as well as the two Masters standing side to side being victorious in their efforts to beat The Doctor. The whole scenario with the spaceship, black hole and hospital has a very errie feel which I dig too. I think this first part is significantly better than the second part but I'm about to hop into your reaction to The Doctor Falls now. Oh boy. Let's see what you make of it. Haha! I just know you're gonna have a lot of thoughts! :D
