I do like this story, and the whole bootstrap paradox theme, where the events and actions of the present influence the events and decisions of the past, thus creating the events of the present, and so on in a loop. As a scifi geek I lap that sort of thing up. The Doctor's 4th wall breaking monologue about t Beethoven sort of prepares you for that, and is quite fun as well. It also gives Capaldi another opportunity to strap on the guitar😀🎸. I also really liked the guitar driven theme tune, and wish they continued to use that for Capaldi's run. And yes, the undertaker is from he same planet as the cowardly alien in The God Complex episode.

The reason the 'roar' was really creepy is because it was done by the lead singer of Slipknot; Corey Taylor. Hes a big who fan and was really excited to be part of a show. I go back and forth on this one still.. i hated it when i first watched it because i had no clue what a bootstrap paradox was and i didnt google it like 12 told me to 😅. Easiest way to explain it ; its the classic chicken and the egg scenario. Yeah, the whole 2 part stories... hope you like em 😅

I think you have a way better understanding of this two-parter than I did on my first watch LOL. Every time I watch it (or watch a reaction for it) I always seem to forget the story and how the mystery unfolds/is resolved. *sweat emoji* Though I do I like this 2-parter for the guest actors/characters, and for all the 12/Clara stuff. I have duty of care. You made yourself essential to me. etc. And for the supporting characters calling out 12 and Clara on various things. Whenever I think of their era together, it's less the stories that stand out and more how their relationship and they themselves as characters evolve. I enjoy how often it all gets put under the microscope too. It's a level of scrutiny that the show had not really done for a Doctor and Companion before to this extent/depth, and so for me that's always the most compelling aspect going on.
