I think Tyler weakened Hayley with wolfsbane and that’s why she couldn’t get loose!

Next episode is one of the best episodes in season 1 and also there was a connection remember in the vampire diaries episode tyler left Caroline that was him leaving to go to new Orleans and in they episode he was

Hayley planned for Tyler's hybrid friends to be slaughtered by Klaus. Some could say that she had a hand in Tyler's mother dying too, because if she hadn't warned Klaus about Tyler's plans, then Klaus wouldn't have killed his mother. I think those are the reasons why Tyler doesn't see her as a friend, not just because she has a baby with Klaus, but because she betrayed Tyler in a very ugly way. But I also agree that Tyler was extra villainized this episode. I could see him hating Hayley at first, but wanting to kill her unborn baby while she begs him to help her escape from Klaus and find another way, was a little too much.

Ok I honestly have a question for everyone... Why do people say originals is better than tvd?? Tvd has better mythology, tvd has better villains(originals barely has a good villain) and tvd has characters from both originals and tvd....the only reason I enjoyed TO was because of the original family, and marcel...otherwise originals is soo boring man...especially 1st season...klaus,marcel, elijah and hayley made the originals good.....and tbh only season 3 and a bit of season 2 was great

I like how they didn’t go down the route of forcing us to think Klaus is the misunderstood good guy here. Instead we get to see how he’s tortured the people around him and how that has affected them.

Tyler’s back! It’s interesting that he said he wanted to get revenge on Klaus back in TVD and now we see him here. I like the continuity of that. I agree that Tyler has almost become just as bad as Klaus bc he’s been driven mad. Revenge takes you to extreme lengths. I really liked seeing Hayley fight back in this ep. And it was interesting to see the effect of the baby’s blood on vampires. It was cool to see Klaus effectively turn everyone he loves against him without even knowing. Rebekah probably just needed an indication that she should take her brother’s side, but instead he confirmed everything Marcel has been saying.

This episode really had the audacity to try to make Tyler the crazed one and that Klaus is just paranoid and complicated. They had Klaus explain his history with Tyler while showing flashbacks and people still want to demonize Tyler. He went through such excellent character development in the earlier seasons of TVD only to completely shatter that when Klaus came around. This is why I never fully got through TO, the protagonist of this show spent the entirety of the original show he came from terrorizing everyone and then he gets his own show and refuses to shed that villain skin despite being put in the leading role- Klaus is straight up evil he can’t even play the anti-hero role. I haven’t seen the entire thing so I don’t know if they fully manage to switch Klaus up, but I could not even stomach two seasons of this show despite liking all the other characters because I cannot stand the main character.

What I just realise is why is Tyler going after Hayley because the baby can potentially sire Hybrids when there is Human Katherine in Mystic Falls who Klaus could litterally use anytime to sire new Hybrids ...
