The show does get better dont worry lol, it was picked up by netflix at some point so the writing and production became alot better haha. also rio isnt dead dont worry, he sat up at the end there. anyways thanks for reacting to this show, it does take a while to get into but it is worth it.

I love this show for what it is. Overdramatic and fun. In regards to the ending not making sense...everything is always explained as time goes on. But so far...the professor explained in the flashback that they were purposely going to act like they were caught. They were supposed to shoot at the cops and then run back into the mint like they were trapped. So, that was a part of the plan. Where they messed up...was first that Tokyo went a little too soon and second they didn't think that the cops would shoot back. Apparently, (from what I've read about this), in European countries - cops don't even always carry guns and if they do - it is not procedure for them to just start shooting. (unlike America).

Also, I think that its important to note...that this is a ragtag team of criminals. Most of them have been caught before...or have a warrant out for their arrest now. So, these are not criminal masterminds. It is the professor who came up with the plan.
