I'm honestly confused on why the writers decided to make it look like Jeremy didn't like Damon cuz from what I remember Jeremy kept following Damon like a lost puppy and trying to help him out after Damon killed him in season 2. Oh and back in season 3 when Rebekah and Elijah thought that Klaus died Elijah asked why aren't the rest of them dead and he reveals that it wasn't him or Kol who turned their bloodline and Rebekah replies with it wasn't her and that she was sure that it was Klaus. This episode was really a meh for me, my favorite lines were when Stefan said, "You don't know what I look like when I'm not in love with you." and when Damon called Matt "the least most valuable player".

I love the fact that Jeremy and Damon have a better relationship than Jeremy and Stefan even though Damon tried to kill him twice lol.

IMO Stefan sleeping with Rebekah is the same as Damon sleeping with her last season. They (the brothers) both weren’t with Elena at the time, they both acted out as a result of Elena hurting their feelings, they both believed they were over her but deep down know they’ll go to her in a heartbeat if she asked. But still somehow Damon gets more shit for it. I love that Stefan is moving on but I don’t think he’ll fully move on until she takes the cure.

Its literally stuff like this that makes it so hard for me to like Elena sometimes. A lot of the time. And I’m saying this as someone who likes Delena, how entitled could one person be, really? This girl has completely broken Stefan down and shattered his heart, AND has moved on with his brother who as we all know hasn’t exactly been the most put together person/vampire in the stability department and yet she can’t handle the fact that her ex is hooking up with someone who doesn’t like her. As if Stefan’s actions still have to revolve around her.

Season 4 really is the season that I began to totally despise Elena. She is not only incredibly self-centered and entitled, but she's also an incredible hypocrite. For 3 seasons she talked about how vampires aren't all monsters, how wiping all of them out would be wrong, and yet now she wants Jeremy to wipe out an entire bloodline of vampires she doesn't know anything about for her own selfish goals and yet she somehow still sees herself as a good person. I can't. Also, yeah, Rebekah never betrayed Stefan. Working against him isn't betrayal if he doesn't think she's working with him or if he trusts her before. He knew where her loyalities were. Meanwhile, he did have her trust, worked to gain it, actually, and then turned around and betrayed her. So yeah, she's right :D

I definitely see your point about hypocrisy but I think context plays a big role here. Yes, Elena doesn’t want to kill all vampires bc some of them might be innocent. But the situation is this: Kol is coming to kill Jeremy, whether they like it or not. So why not take advantage of that and kill two birds with one stone? They can either somehow find a different way to deal with Kol but still have to kill newly turned vamps, or they can try to kill an original and therefore all his sires, which in their minds, is better than killing innocent humans-turned-vampires. Both are bad, but I think it’s about the lesser of two evils in this situation. Personally, I don’t fault Elena for this; I actually think she was being really smart here.

I missed Caroline in this episode :( no wonder it felt incomplete. They actually mentioned some foreshadowing that I had never noticed before! Interesting… Also Stefan being snappy and carefree is just SO fun to watch. I love his dynamic with Rebekah. And that line “You don’t know what I look like when I’m not in love with you.” DAMN!!! So powerful.

This episode is ok for me. Can’t stand Elena though. Everything both the brothers do have to revolve around her in her mind🙄

I just don't get why everyone is willing to get the curse just for elena even after kol told them that Silas would trigger the end of time..I just don't like how every action stefan and damon take revolves around elena

I think.this season is the reason why people hate Elena...apart from her being useless the first 3 seasons now she is also just self centred and naive....

I love Elena as a character. I feel like she was a person who was scared of life and losing more people only to become a vampire and put into a position where she can learn to better defend herself with a crew that could potentially not die if they can stay out of trouble long enough. I enjoy that she can be unlikable. Damon and Stefan have their great and f*d up moments and now I feel like it’s Elena’s time. At least she has the excuse of being a few months old. The Vamp Fellas are suffering from arrested development and a lifetime of PTSD and addiction issues.
