Guess I'm the only one to comment on this one. I like this episode too. There are some rough bits, or slow bits, but it's pretty good overall. I love flash backs too. Always nice to get the back story. Especially since these boys don't like to talk! Dean would likely have been 9 or 10 during the time in the flashbacks, and Sam 5 or 6. Neither boy had anything close to a "normal" upbringing. Dean at least had Mary for the first 4 years of his life, and is able to remember stuff about life before his mom died. And his mom. Poor Sam doesn't get that. So it's interesting that Dean doesn't seem to even consider trying to get that life back, while Sam is eager to get back to a "normal" life and get back to school. It does seem like Sam was protected from what was really going on, while Dean was thrown right into it at the age of 4. Him seeing what happened to his mom, and then what John became after, has to have left a mark. Sam didn't see all of that happening, because by the time he could understand, it was already done and John was full on hunting. That's sad. You had really good points. Thanks for giving us your thoughts. Season one still has it's training wheels on though.
