This episode is the only meh one in the series for me

JY

I'm not a fan of this one either. Just like Victory of the Daleks, I found this to be really boring. But I'm looking forward to the next one.

This is probably the worst episode in series for me. But I still enjoy it. I looove Rory so much and I can’t wait for next episode

Ian Smith

Patrick Stewart?? That was William Hartnell - the First Doctor. Stand in the corner!

Evan!!

Yeah not my favorite episode, but I love the Amy/Rory/Doctor stuff. Definitely the strongest part of it in my opinion, still think Victory of the Daleks is worse.

Will

Yeah, a bit of a boring episode. The bit at the beginning with the Doctor coming out of the cake makes me chuckle a bit.

Daryl

Definitely one of the weaker episodes of this series. But I do also love the part where Rory challenges The Doctor. Some of the silliness appeals to my sensibility too. "Tell me the whole plan!" And Amy and The Doctor getting all childishly excited when they've seen vampires and the adventure looks to be getting a bit dangerous.

The man in the Physic Paper you said looked like Patrieck Stewart is The First Doctor (William Hartnell)

Samuel Coghlan-White

you should watch a video explaining classic who so you get those little jokes and references

One of my least favourite episodes of series 5 - but contains some of my all time favourite scenes from the show. Pretty much the scenes you point out. The way Rory calls him out is fabulous, and the fact that the Doctor listens to him and tries to act on it (by sending her back to the TARDIS) is really cool - I really appreciated that.

This and Victory of the Daleks are my least favourite two episodes of this season. Re: the Isabella/Guido deaths... i know you get upset by the minority deaths - but I imagine this was written with race-blind casting in mind as the characters' race was irrelevant in this particular story. So then you're in a decision as a production team of do we cast two black actors who will both be killed off or do we not cast any black actors in named parts in this episode? Personally I think the former is the lesser of two evils. Basically about half of non-companion roles get killed off, if not more anyway, every episode!

Too often those seem like the only options producers and casting think they have so you’ll forgive me if I don’t see it the same way you do. We want more than just a seat at the table
