The schoolboy who gets captured and possessed by the aliens was indeed in Game of Thrones. He played khaleesi's Brother in the first season - also schools back then would regularly punish students by beatings or spankings , right up to the 70's/80's. I don't know how it was in America, but my Dad said his teacher once punished him by cracking his knuckles with a metal ruler, it was common place then. Of course now its very illegal.

Idk of someone told you but when John Smith talks about his parents, he says the names of the real people who created Doctor Who. Sydney Newman created the Show and Verity Lambert produced it. The first female producer at the bbc, and its why the early seasons of classic who had equal female characters. The show took a male centric turn after she left
