Seth and Summer are tricky. I wouldn't hold all those years he liked her against Summer, because chances are he didn't do much about it, plus she didn't truly know him like she started to later on. Before Ryan's arrival in their lives, he was mostly treating her like a fantasy without trying to properly engage with her, or trying to get to know her for real. The thing with Anna did happen like she said, Seth chose Anna. Maybe not for too long, but that doesn't matter, she would have felt like this even if the Seth/Anna relationship lasted a day. It's still rejection of Summer and would be for anyone in her shoes. Summer also has a lot of faults, one of which being how ready she sometimes seems to leave the relationship because of her father/other people/popularity. Like the thing with her dad didn't have a satisfying ending of Seth's feelings being acknowledged more this time around, as opposed to the other times when they weren't close and weren't together. This time they were close, and it could have been this great moment of Summer choosing him, or even messing up like she did but realising they are above this drama now, this was the old them but not anymore, going to him and telling him he mattered to her. But instead it was all sort of muddled with the Las Vegas thing, Seth kissing someone else, Summer shrugging about it like it was whatever, and them being a couple again. The problem is that they never seem equally invested in their relationship. When Seth is, Summer has doubts. When Summer is, Seth has doubts.

Yes exactly! I agree with you that it was unsatisfying how things were “resolved” with Summer and Seth getting back together in Vegas. The situation was still the same: her father still doesn’t approve of him and Summer never acknowledged that she was sorry for tossing Seth aside because of that. She just got jealous and they kissed and Seth forgave her. As far as Seth having a crush on her all those years I’m not saying Summer had to like him back or know that he liked her, Im saying she was nothing but rude to him every time he tried to speak to her. She saw him as less than and that lasted for a long time and continued even when she had feelings for him but didn’t want to admit it. She just hasn’t done enough work in the relationship imo and doesn’t deserve him. I was glad when he chose Anna because Anna had more in common with him and was a nice person. But people always want the bad boy or bad girl. I still haven’t seen anything about Summer other than her looks that Seth likes about her. Occasionally she’ll be nice to people but not enough to cancel out how selfish she is. With Anna out of the picture Seth seems like he’s always invested in Summer but she is only occasionally invested. Seth leaving because he lost Ryan made sense to me. He lost someone who has always been there for him as opposed to Summer who is occasionally there for him. They hadn’t really made up to me. Like you said they kissed in Vegas but nothing about their fight or Seth’s feelings were acknowledged so I forgot that they even got back together. If it’s okay for Summer to tell Seth that she can’t be with him because her father doesn’t approve and then kiss him without acknowledging how he feels then it’s okay for Seth to take off and leave her a note. She didn’t care enough about feelings so why should he. I’m sure he wasn’t doing that to consciously hurt her but subconsciously he needed to be in control of something. He had no control of losing Ryan, no control of what Summer’s dad thought of him, and no control of how Summer treated him.

Summer actually chose Seth over her dad, and that's a big thing for her, I know that is hard to understand, but she really hasn't a family, I relate to that, when she broke up with him she must have done that in the fear of disappoint the only persone she truly cares about and made her feel loved, but then she chose seth cause she loved and was in love with him. And they were at very good terms when he left without even say goodbye, so i feel like she's very right to be mad at him rn.
