Alright, you voted for the Jungle/Desert Library map for the Patron Map of December, and I'm here to open discussion on what you want to see!

With the tools at hand, I believe I could make a pretty good jungle library, so my questions would be around the following:

1. Is the library overgrown, or was it designed to live in harmony with nature?

2. Is the library part of a set of ruins, or part of a modern dwelling/building?

3. Is the library a place of learning with people living there, or a rare gem of a find deep in the jungle/forest with hidden secrets?

4. What features and/or cool components would you like to see added to a jungle-based/themed library?

Comment below and let me know what you think!

Ooh I'm so excited for this one! I've been working on a homebrew campaign were finding a lot library in a magic forest is a focal point haha 1. Overgrown sounds so much fun, lots of options for things hiding in the undergrowth or potentially a party rediscovering a lost trove knowledge thought long gone. 2. Ruins would be really cool for all the reasons I put above :D 3. Hidden secrets are my jam, so I'm going to have to go with that one haha 4. Oh man, that's a tough one. A massive tree growing out of the reference desk? Rubble made from priceless books and the broken roof? The bones of some long dead creature that honestly shouldn't be there but somehow are? Lots of cool options with this map and I can't wait to see what you come up with!! :D

1. I think having the library living in harmony with nature and still in use by the civilization living in the jungle would be a nice change of pace from standard European medieval fantasy. 2. I think having it be part of a building would again, be a nice change of pace. 3. I'd like to see the library be a major place of learning, like maybe a university library, an arcane school library or maybe even a royal library 4. Well since the jungle setting would be a tropical setting, maybe have the building have a lot of open spaces for ventilation and to avoid the humidity damaging the books. I'm not familiar with what you can do with your program but maybe have other forms of written media other than books to help preserve the works like tablets?

Hey, really looking forward to this idea come to fruition. 1. Overgrown. 2. Ruins of a modern/near future dwelling. 3. Rare gem with hidden secrets. 4. Through your descriptions and question prompts I imagined a self-sustainable vessel of great knowledge that is from the current to very near future and is trapped out of time, centuries in the past. The occupants have lived and gone, there’s evidence of a rare few others who have found the library over the years but it is now empty, or so it would seem. Whatever you decide on will be cool!

Great idea - one of my players is a researcher/librarian! 1. Overgrown but now in use by new (fey?) inhabitants. 2. Ruins from an older civilization, and repurposed more recently by creatures who have built a forest/jungle village and use the library as a center for study and learning. 3. Rare gem of a find deep in the forest with hidden secrets; some from its ancient past and a few newer secrets. 4. Stacks (books) overgrown with exotic (glowing?) flowers; sealed room (w/ books) with no apparent entry/door (thinking "poison room" from The Magicians); books that have wings and books that are chained.

I think a ruined, but mostly intact, hidden library built to be in hermony with nature could be cool.

Overgrown but intact would be best! I would love to have an upper level with tree branches connecting different sides.

1. Both could be cool, built with it in mind but still being encroached on from the edges. 2. Ruins 3. Hidden Secrets 4. Jungles have layers: Emergent layer at the top, then Canopy, Understory and Forest floor with different plants and animals at the different heights. Maybe could play on that idea if the bookcases are in 'stacks' on top of each other? If we are talking rainforest style, it will rain a ton. Could have something cool happen with the water. Jungles vary a ton from day to night, with say panthers and other predators only at night. Also insects that illuminate coming out at night. Could have it be dangerous at night but that is the only time you can get at the secret? Could go really crazy and have the bookcases and books themselves as still part of a living tree/plant? So the books can't be removed only read while you are there. Could have sections based on animals? Like panther for stealth knowledge/illusion magic. Or like eagles/Bats for air based magic, or scouting/scrying or something.
