After I saw this movie, I thought either I had a very vivid nightmare or it was some bad acid trip. lol. Still, it's got to be extremely hard as a screenwriter to write something like this.

I've always enjoyed this movie. I haven't thought about it in a long time so it was cool to revisit it with you. I also went in thinking it was a horror film but it's really a psychological thriller. One thing about the ending, the Jess body that is on the street is the one from the trunk. It spilled out on the road because of the crash. You can see she's wearing the paint-stained dress. The Jess we're following did not die there. My sense is that she's in a purgatory, constantly trying to change her son's fate, which is why she goes to the harbor. It also seems that her mind resets (maybe) when she wakes up in the cab. She doesn't really remember anything before that. Is that the start of the loop? I don't know. That interpretation does make it extremely difficult to figure out when things begin and when her actual life may have ended.
