Arya's name sounds like 'are ya'. Are ya sure. Are ya hungry. Are ya serious.

MovieFusion

That’s actually the most useful way someone’s explained it to me LMAO. Thank you.

Mike Ramirez

lol, it's the accents that makes it confusing. You're totally right, some of the characters are saying ahh-yah, but that's the accent changing the sound of it as written. I like Arthur's explanation above, definitely the easiest to understand.

Mike Ramirez

at 39:30, who did you mean exactly? You said Tywin, and there is a character by that name who was mentioned by Robert Baratheon, but we haven't met him yet. Just a heads up for your YT edit to spare you some grief in the comments section, haha.

MovieFusion

I was referring to Robert (the King). My girlfriend made me a family tree for season 1 and I guess I looked at the wrong part and thought Tywin was the King’s name for a second LOL

Loving these reactions. Can't wait for more :)

I get a little worried when you talk over the dialog because I'm afraid you may miss something important. Many times the dialog gives clues to what's going to happen later in the series. Even watching this episode with you now, I noticed some things I didn't catch the other two or three times I previously watched it. The part where King Robert talked about killing a man with his 'hammer' is new to me. So far, we haven't seen anyone else using a hammer in a fight.

MovieFusion

I try my best to balance it. I also can hear it while I talk since I wear headphones. The reason I can't just not talk at all is mainly because otherwise my video is going to have a lot of trouble with copyright claims, and also because some people want me to be more engaged with what I'm watching, and usually that means sharing my thoughts as the episode goes along. I do get what you are saying though, the dialogue is very important but don't think I'm not listening just because I am saying something too. I can try to talk a little less though

A lot of reactors I follow (right now is Spartan & Pudgey) pause when they want to discuss something at the end of a scene. I think this helps A LOT with understanding the world and characters in the first few seasons because you get to fully digest a scene and talk about it without having to also try to pay attention to the new scene. I agree with Arthur on this one, you're missing some key dialogue that will come back in future episodes and seasons.

MovieFusion

I have done that in prior reactions sometimes if I have a long tangent about something I want to say but I feel like it might annoy some others if I am constantly pausing the show to say something for a bit (even if it's after a scene). I personally prefer not pausing as I watch films/shows but like I said, I will if it's a longggg tangent of some kind. Especially for those who watch a long, I am worried that might annoy people. I might do some polls to see what people think though.

TallTyrionLannister

Totally understand your logic. I guess I'm just on the side of preferring you pause haha. I would suggest checking out how Spartan & Pudgey handle it, as they've substantially grown their follower base since starting GOT a couple months ago, and the pausing thing seems to be working. I think you'll also find GOT fans a different breed compared to others. It's all in the small details in this show...

MovieFusion

I'll take a look! I wouldn't think that would be the direct cause of their video's success though because there's a lot of factors that go into it but it's certainly possible. I don't personally think I've missed much dialogue (especially because I go back to edit it afterwards so I rewatch every episode). I completely understand what is going on at this point in the story. I just have trouble remembering names sometimes lol

Arthur Fields

I completely understand the copyright thing. And I did assume you get to listen to the dialog again while editing.

Arthur Fields

When King Robert was talking about the first person he killed, I just noticed a few other things that he said that foreshadow upcoming events. The line about men shitting themselves when they die, will be in one of the greatest scenes in the series (and maybe in TV history). No spoilers.

Ida

this show is the epitome of delayed gratification...don't expect to see anything you want anytime soon!

The way you said Arya at the end was perfect! And I think if we're just talking about screen time, Ned is the one that has the most.
