It is time to decide the next move! Thorn and the Iron Wolves are going to be sent to assist the fight against the Orcs while Bothy moves the main force of the army down toward Shaylathemar to join up with the Duke.

The first option is for Thorn to head toward the mountains, cleaning up the Orcs on their way before moving through the mountains to clear the path from Maandell to Khen Davahl. This will allow the Dwarves to assist the final battle, and will give Thorn the opportunity to see where the map he got from Sylith leads.

The second option is for Thorn to help Velin beat the large Orc camp outside Ilha Caelora. This will free up Velin to assist in the final battle, but will mean that the map will have to be left for another book.

As always, let me know your thoughts down below.

Velin according to the map wont have many trees arround during the final battle. But the dwarves have numbers and don't rely on trees.

Give us more Velin!

Also if the elf city can move then move closer to where velin is and then relese the players and guilds on the orcs which will help velin it is very tempting to be given a bounty and earning a rep boost so they can get better footing in rasyn the elfs could call them the hero army and when they wipe out the orcs they can turn toward the main orc force and collecting bounty on the small bands of orcs around the island lol

I wanna see what the map leads to (it had better be a dragon or I will be sad)

Another thing to consider is that Thorn is the leader of two races (Wolfkin and Dwarf). As the Stone King, he should not simply abandon the dwarves being attacked in the west. Besides, he might find a way to use the Stone Legion in the fight, which would begin to restore acceptance of the Stone Legion by the dwarf race. This might also be a way for the author to continue the plot line that Thorn is not acting as a typical player in that he cares as much about the NPC as he does his fellow players.

Yep that is great and another great point he helps the dwarfs and velin will get the help of the elfs and the players it will be epic

I want whatever moves the story forward more than outward. I.e. more of the core trinity of Thorn, Velin, and Mina, more about the Avatars and their gods, and more progress towards whatever overarching story the AIs are working towards. I'd rather have less of extended military campaigns and side quests.

Actually, he can probably do both since he has 3500 Wolf Army members in the North Angoril Army and 4000 Nova Luna Players under contract to the Elves.

I agree with Robert. The other thing is I can see is once Thorn actually reads the map and activates it that it would trigger another world quest. The travelers fighting on the other fronts would see this and despite whatever they signed flock to Thorn's location. This could lead to accusations of Thorn attempting to use the war effort to distract everyone while he hoards the dragon treasure. The war effort would collapse and the elves would suffer a crippling defeat. This would turn the NPCs on the travelers and discredit Thorn. It's almost like someone laid a giant mousetrap for Thorn....hmmmm I wonder who....

Come on people, the mountain is stable but Velin is being overrun, also imagine the trees around the mountain preventing their retreat while the Earth itself crushes them using the commands of the Dwarfs and/or Thorn. It would be epic, and would show Thorn's overwhelming strength and strategic prowess.

I chose Orange. I do not understand why they don’t make another portal to the secured Dwarven area and port in help. Also if the orc forces leave off sieging the dwarves then the dwarves are free to come out and attack the Orcs on their flank. I would go Orange to tie up the forces there so they have no easy way to land more Orcs on the island. Take away their ingress points. Odd when I voted it was 39 to 39. After I voted it is 40 to 39 red... Did my vote get tabulated correctly or is there a time delay?

I double checked, and your vote is being counted for Orange. Not sure what the strange adjustment of the numbers was.

Prolly just a weird timing issue where simultaneous votes happened then

Heading towards the mountains will open a whole lot of new problems and a lot of new characters and potential enemies and allies. Also, it will be nice to see how Thorn handles his group with over dependence on Velin. While Velin handles her quest without dependence on Thorn. Meanwhile, going towards to the mountains helps to war in a lot of ways like; cutting off reinforcements for the Orc army, supplies etc. The Angoril army should handle freeing the rest of Rasyn.

However, to see more Velin action, you could write events surrounding Velin and Thorn separately but simultaneously, connecting the events as they unfold. You haven't visibly written this way in the other books. I suggest you split Mina and Thorn by using Thorn make her the temple priestess or have her element transform and get stronger which will lead to a mission for Thorn. The point is to separate Thorn from his most trusted allies, lets see how he fares
