You can read all the details about the poll, including the very pertinent reason why the poll is happening here.

Options:

  1. Reduce the number of posts to 3 per week, with post images. Curtail writing that isn't about what I am working on.
  2. Continue posting 6 times per week, but only have post images for poll topics and releases. Curtail writing that isn't about what I am working on.
  3. Reduce the number of posts to 3 per week, and only have post images for poll topics and releases. Curtail writing that isn't about what I am working on.
  4. Stop with all the words already!

Mr. Gabit

I enjoy the amount and content of your blog posts. However, the numbers don't lie. That is a fair chunk of time that can be repurposed towards personal pursuits or more productive AW activities.

If time was no object... I usually enjoy writing the posts and making the pictures, and ideally would like to keep making them... but I have to make myself do the responsible thing for the good of the project as a whole. It isn't always fun--or easy--but that's what it takes to succeed with a big project. :/

Mr. Gabit

I feel you there, time management is a real pain in the ass. I freely offer my assistance should the project have a need for a luddite such as me.

I like the (nearly) daily posts and don't see them as wasted time. They are usually informative and fun. Not sure how or when you do them but I know for myself doing something on the side like that when doing a large project gives me time to clear my head and refocus.

If you don't have anything to write about then don't post but if you do why not unless it takes a lot of time

change nothing! (unless you want to). i look forward to these posts from you each day, and i enjoy the pictures. i really don't mind the current state of development, but if you see a problem that needs fixing, then that can be considered a problem in itself. if blog posting is setting you back, then perhaps posting every other day unless progress allows it is the best option? i vote option 1, because i like the images and the posts, but i hope the amount of posts per week is 3 at a minimum. if i could, id vote option 5, which would be to change nothing, but skip a day or two here and there if you feel it is hurting game dev progress. p.s. god damn those huge bellies are hot.

the problem with your phone could be as simple as an old battery. my S5 was fixed with what sounds like the same issue by just getting a new battery. the newer batteries produce a lot of heat for their size, and this gets worse as the battery ages. electronic designers don't design things for when they age, and rarely take battery heat into account (sometimes even standard operational heat) and rely on people being in climate controlled spaces all the time to shed the heat into the air efficiently. they also don't know how to water proof things cheaply, but that isn't part of your problem (i think, but it could be a moisture issue from humidity). hopefully you don't have the S7 active, that one has a more expensive battery and a more difficult time changing it. hopefully as well the heat hasn't caused the components to have issues yet, and it is just the heat causing temporary value changes in the silicon components (only when it gets hot from the battery), if this has happened you'll need a new phone and new battery (for some reason they tend to replace just the phone).

I love the posts but I understand if you want to cut back to prevent burn out. I like the idea of option 1 no need to restrict whether you include images or not. I would only add you don't really need to curtail the writing to only the game. I like hearing the bits about your life and thoughts and stuff. I think it helps connect with your patrons a little bit letting them know you are real. I follow some people who need to learn to focus and not write so much junk in a post but I would have never counted you as one of them.

I like reading what you post. If you enjoy making these posts so much then you should continue doing it.
