Ok you probably won't remember why I would comment this. You were talking about trust falls. I was like 10 or 11 and I was at a friends house and there were like 4 other families there. It was like a mass friend get together for my parents. Only friends and my immediate family. They brought me out of the kids room where we were watching T.V. Then they asked me to stand on the step stool and fall backwards. One of the adults caught me. I to this day do not understand that night at my parents' friends house.

Sharing Heart

Honestly, beyond the comedy and the wholesomeness, you seem to have struck a lot into why I personally love the show. Sure, it's full of seemingly obvious lessons for children, but at the same time, it's full of lessons that us adults forget or perhaps never even learned. There's quite a few mature lessons as well that I haven't heard any other show try to teach kids. It's a fun yet deep philosophical dive. Plus, it's fun how the writers were very aware how the show itself could come across. Like when Applejack referred to Twilight's speech as a bunch of hooey, that to me undid how cringey the speech felt. I'm sure the writers did that for that purpose to make the show palpable for all ages like the creator of the show, Lauren Faust, said she wanted the show to be.

Whooo let's go! Yeah this opening really sells how different this show is, and things only go up from here. As far as Celestia telling Twilight to "study friendship" I always read that as more like Tia just trying to put this in terms Twilight could grasp and latch onto. She knows how isolated and unsocial Twilight has been, and is trying to give something familiar to use to ground herself with while taking these steps into actually bonding with other ponies for a change.
