This change makes sense and is generally a good move. For RWBY this seems a little unnecessary, as there are definitely many YT channels that upload full episodes of the show (the biggest perhaps is Murder of Birds, whom Roostertooth have openly acknowledged and long supported). I can understand if you want to standardise the format across the board however. Looking forward to the reactions!

i just hope i can still hear it at least a little. ive seen every episode of SU so many times that honestly i could probably gauge whats happening by your reactions. really though, since ive seen it so much i dont even watch the videos but i love listening to your reactions to SU while i work, it really helps make the day go by and feel like less time working in the sun.

I dont mind the change but for rwby, rooster teeth is more relaxed as long as you do follow their guidelines (https://support.roosterteeth.com/hc/en-us/articles/360045358831-Content-Usage-Guidelines). For SU, ymmv. Some would stream it in the same format that youre doing it in, especially if youre commenting on different parts like you do (which may be seen fine under fair use (dont quote me on that)), others would put a timestamp in place and just full release available under something like patreon (which is generally fine), and others may just cut sections of the video (the reaction included) out. Whatever you choose is totally fine though.

It’s important for you to do whatever is necessary to keep yourself out of trouble and sustainable. I do think it’s worth noting that RT does allow RWBY to be watched in full (sometimes you’ll get copyrighted on accident, but the company will help fix it!) the show is free to watch anyway so they don’t copyright reactors. But in general, even if you end up doing it with RWBY, what matters to us is that you keep making your content! Thanks so much for the update!! Excited for your RWBY v8 reactions the next few days 😆

Definitely signal boosting this, I know most RWBY reactors do stream the full show usually straight from RT (so you get the RT logo) and while they do occasionally trip the copyright claims most of those get resolved in <24 hrs. I would definitely check out how Semblance of Sanity does their reactions in terms of balancing timing issues for RWBY

I want you to be around david and not have trouble. But i do agree with many of the others. I have been a Roosterteeth fan for a long time and they are always supportive of people reacting to full content and will actively help reactors. So when it come to funimation or other large companies I can see it but it seems unnecessary in regards to RT content

The update makes total sense, just one thing, I think I heard that RT allow people to react to full episodes, so maybe cutting RWBY down isn't necessary ( but maybe something changed, idk...)

Totally understand David :) Fair use and such seems like a really murky area, even though it really shouldn't be considering how you've chosen to take the content and look into those deeper meanings and have those conversations as you've mentioned. I'll echo the sentiment that RT seems to have been cool with allowing people to use full episodes, but you do what you need to to keep the channel safe good sir! Much love for you and your work!

Understand completely. But I heard that for RWBY, Rooster Teeth actually allows reactors to watch the episodes in full, they also said that if you get any copyright troubles with their content just to email them about it and they'll try and fix it.

This kind of sucks for people like me (please don’t take this the wrong way and read the whole message first!) since watching on the iPad makes it pretty much impossible to sync things as most apps don’t do mini viewers. Especially the ones where the shows are accessible. Of course I understand the change, I’m sure everyone does. But other reactors like Semblance of sanity do links to off platform versions, still edited down so they only show key moments and points that they really resonate with, as well as an after episode discussion where they go into their full thoughts and questions over the media. I’m not saying to be like them, but checking out their format may give you some ideas too (and removes the need for syncing)
