Emerald episode wooooo

Yuu美雪

That statue scene was absolutely flawless with the dialogue and atmosphere, just everything made me so sad for them 😭😭😭and the music?? Chef’s kiss. Side note, I loved the Mercury/Emerald and Tyrian scene, we get a lot of info on Merc and Em’s POV and we learn that despite coming off as insane, Tyrian is a lot more insightful and lucid than he appears.

Actually you mentioned atlas who was a titan that fought against the Greek gods and as punishment was forced to hold up the sky not the world so a little different but good analogy

Fun fact, the red haired woman, pyrrha's mom or sister or whoever, is also voiced by Jen Brown, Pyrrha's VA. Just in case you needed another reason for this ep to make u cry (same)

Dave

I think it’s a ghost of pyrrah in a different form

Just in general I think this episode is one (along with v3c8-12) that all of us who have seen the show just wait for reactors to get to. The statue in real time was just such a punch in the gut but also something that Jaune needed desperately. He's been stuck in the anger stage of his grief for so long that he needed a kick like this to move into acceptance and then moving forward from his loss...that said the leaf floating in the wind was just so evilly good...oh and the song ("Forever Fall") uses Pyyrha's motif from the OST back in V1 and 3

I think your a bit out of sync I could hear it on your end and then a few seconds later the same thing on our end

In this episode and many times going forward, I think you can see how much Ruby means to Qrow. I’m not suggesting he cares more for Ruby than Yang - he loves them both. I know he trained Ruby, so he’s probably closer with her, but I also think Ruby reminds him of Summer. I mean, if you watch his reactions to her in the next few episodes with that in mind, it adds so much more to the scene. He knew Summer well, and Ruby is a lot like her mother. And she was STRQ’s team leader. When Ruby gets all “big leader”, it probably reminds him a lot of Summer. And I always thought the last shot of her looking at him was strangely purposeful. It goes from his face to hers, and similarly to a lot of his expressions in the next few episodes when looking at Ruby, theres so much emotion and confliction. It’s one of my favorite and most interesting headcanons.

Zen Reacts

Emerald lost without Cinder, Jaune lost without Pyrrha, Qrow lost with without purpose.

I have watch through this show like 15+ times, and it doesn't matter how prepared I am or how many time I see it, that whole scene always turns on the waterworks. So good.

I really needed those breaks at the statue scene they helped but i sill was crying

Brad Kirkwood

those words always make me cry and always make me think of Monty, Pyrrha worked every day for her dreams and so did he

This episode is a real demonstration and example of CRWBY know how about emotional roller coaster, and things get more and more like this in volume 7 to 8 (I thinks, volume 8 is just a giant emotional roller coaster at the end). The statue scene always bring tears for everyone, so, you're not alone in this ^^'. Ruby really shine during this volume, already in the train scene at the beginning of the volume, again at the farm, again here, and the last few episodes, Ruby will be just dazzling.

May the odds be ever in your favor. - Hunger Games Also big hearts to your drip interlude. Haven't heard wavy in a while either. Love your reactions every time. <3

It's OK bro. We ALL cry in this episode.

Lexi Rasmussen

Couldn' explain it better myself! Adding on to your thought I think that Ruby's likeness of her mom has Qrow so protective of her because he's lost Summer once and he's conflicted that he wants to prevent losing Ruby in the same way however that would be holding her back from growing into the huntress shes worked her whole life for. -Just bunches of feels.

I was always a fan of Mercury's character, but I like how they gave him a little more depth here. It's as Tryian said, being with Salem feels right because violence is all he knows. When you feel that sort of abuse and when others try to shape you to what they want you to be, you turn out jaded. I also like that he's the sort of Rock Lee of RWBY, in that he doesn't have any special abilities but can stand with the rest of them because he worked harder than everyone else, and has the skills to show for it.

This episode and that scene gets EVERYONE. I can't think of many fans who can see this scene without tears.
