I'd forgotten how much I loved Season 6

I've loved seeing your reactions to Maria change from "wow what a bitch she's kind of annoying" to "WOW, WHAT A BITCH, SHE'S AMAZING" because yeah same. the line "lets not lose hope. ... maybe she's dead!" always gets me

It’s so crazy how well CRWBY is able to make trauma symptoms accurate. The defensive, lashing out reaction that Jaune and his team had makes a lot of sense. Pyrrha got mixed up in a cause that has no light at the end of the tunnel. From their point of view, they essentially just learned that she died for nothing. Trauma tends to shut down logical reactions and operate purely based off of self preservation, and we can see it so clearly in this episode, just like we could see it with Yang in v5 when she talked with Weiss and Ruby about Blake.

I love that during Maria’s lecture you can hear instrumentals of Red Like Roses and This Will Be The Day.

You're in for a ROUGH one next time, just warning you. It's really good, but there's a lot of pain tied into that one.

I like how Nora says to the stuck up commander "Your base looks like... a big, dumb boot!" An old woman... in a big metal shoe? Maybe?

When people are talking about not being able to kill Salem, they’re essentializing what Jinn said. Oz: how can I stop her Jinn: you can’t So there’s two issues at play here. The first is that Ozpin asked if he HE can stop her, not if she can be stopped. The second is people assume the only way to stop Salem is to kill her. We learnt in V6e3 that Ozpin was brought back to life and being reincarnated to prepare humanity for judgement when the four relics are brought together and the gods are summoned. Both Salem and Ozpin have a very similar end goal, unite the relics and allow humanity to be judged. I think, in many ways Ozpin has given up because he seems to have no desire to unite the relics and has lost his trust in individuals. I do not however believe that Ozpin is doing anything wrong. Delaying the destruction of the world, with no apparent ability to stop it permanently is an entirely valid thing. He had been doing it for centuries which has protected generations of life and allowed people even exist. Life in remnant is far from easy but it is beautiful, and as Maria said “Life... is beautiful. It is precious. And it must... be protected.”

I'm with you on containing Salem, that was my first thought as well along with maybe it's only Oz that can't kill her. But I think we all know it's not gonna end like that. The God of Light said "you must learn the importance of life and death" and that is likely the only way she can be stopped, not by killing her, containing her or even fighting her. They're going to have to heal her, and make peace, just like the God of Light had to do with his brother. Remember that the two of them were locked in eternal combat until they created humanity as a truce. I'm sure Light wished he could have just wiped his brother out and be done with it, but he couldn't, they are both equal and opposite and eternal. And now Oz and Salem are literally walking in their shoes. It's easier to make war than peace.

Ah Maria... She is really the best character in this volume (beside Ruby for reaseon you have seen et see in the future episodes). Maria is write like most old people are, they have had their lives full of good and bad things, leading them both to a kind of wisdom and back to childhood, they are no longer afraid to say what they think and do what they want a certain freedom that represents our Grimm Reaper well. And trust me, you haven't seen all of Maria yet :D. Oh and just to point out, when Cordovin talks about Blake as being a Faunus, the first person to talk back is Weiss. She grew so much since the little girl who thought the Faunus were good for nothing and the White Fang was evil incarnate. But with that, you understand that Weiss 'state of mind on this subject, was more of Atlas' state of mind.

When I first watched this episode, I never thought beyond what the characters had been. “It’s impossible “. Because they believe it so intensely. But after a few times and watching newer episodes. I’ve come to the conclusion that even though Salem isn’t exactly human anymore, she needs to be treated like one.

Juanes anger came from the fact the he realized Pyrrha died for nothing. She really really couldn't win the battle and therefore couldn't give real consent because Oz lied to her. Pyrrah chose to be a maiden under the belief doing so would save Beacon and her friends. It was a lie and she died. Had pyrrah done nothing and stayed with Juanne the outcome would have been the same, only Pyrrah would be alive and everyone would be better and stronger. Juanne should have pummled Oz into the darkest hole for that.

I can't wait for ep 9, for all who know :(

the problem with "containment" is that the problem isn't solved. It's just put to the side. Salem could still come back some time later. They're looking for a way to get rid of Salem forever
