TYRIAN FIGHT SCENE LETS GOOOO

Andre D

I never realized there was a piano rendition of It’s My Turn playing during the party. Nice.

I’m so glad you’ve finally got to the This life is mine scene, I’ve been watching your videos since your reaction to that song! Atlas folks and in particular the elitists are just so isolated from the rest of the world that they don’t know the full extent of what’s happening. Now whether that’s by choice or because of where atlas is located is another question. I think a lot of empathy derives from first hand experiences. Which we kind of see through Weiss’ arc, since she went to Beacon and had those new experiences, she’s shown a lot more empathy.

Brad Kirkwood

the rich people at the party have probably never had to deal with the real world, they've been taught from day one that their money and influence places them above it all (pun intended)

I love this chapter. Weiss said she'd perform - but the lyrics to her entire performance tells you it's a middle finger straight up to that Stage Right balcony. And Tyrian's appearance on the scene illustrates for the first time just how out of their depth and how outmatched these children are. Remember, these are teenagers, with less than a full year of Huntsman training, and Remnant is a dangerous world.

This answer resonates with me the whole first hand experiences. Although sometimes I feel like even if you don't have those first hand experiences. We should be able to automatically think of the people lost and the trauma incurred . I loved this comment thanks!

God YES YES YES now you wee why Weiss is best girl. Not that you haven't over time but you can truly just see how far she's come since V1 here. This is why all of us in chat kept telling you she is best girl. Sorry, I just love her. This Life Is Mine is still my #1 RWBY song. She has such a phenomenal character arc. Also have fun with cliffhangers. They become a massive staple in much later volumes.

I believe CRWBY's unofficial name for the dude hitting on Weiss was Fuckboy Neptune and it may be one of my favorite bits of trivia

This may be a bit of a spoiler but it's not plot relevant, just setting/architectural but I think the reason they're so separated from reality and the plight that is the Vale and the Battle of Beacon is because Atlas is a literal floating city that soars above any other. They believe that their city is better and that they're better people because of their status in life

I can resonate with Weiss's scene in the ball. For me it's with people being absolute ^&@&%@ about situations that they have no understanding, and no empathy for people in bad situations, blaming the victims for being victims and such (good riddance to vale anyone?) I mean a bunch of bad stuff is happening in the world, and you see people ridiculing the victims and it makes me sick. Another thing that's frustrating is that when somebody sees something wrong, they just stand aside and do nothing, and if they do try to do something, then 'they' are the problem, such as when the drunk lady tried to get Weiss arrested. (No, I don't approve of violence, but Weiss wasn't in control of her summon) Sorry for the vent, but I thought I'd mention it.

It's part of the good things in this show, rewatching with reaction video like David do, allows you to see details that we had not seen before. After all, I saw the series a good ten times, but it took the live of the final of volume 3 to notice an interesting detail in the "fight" between Adam and Blake (and I will not go back on the little note of All Things Must Die that we hear from volume 2 in Cinder theme, while the song has not yet appeared for David).

Spadeas

I remember when you started the show, and your first opinion on Weiss, I only had one thing in mind at the time, to see your reaction in this volume. Weiss has evolved a lot, and his journey is not yet finished ^^.

So about the town, Oniyuri, Ren compared it to Mountain Glen, which was the place team RWBY went on the field trip with Oobleck (hyperactive coffee teacher). The kingdoms and the big cities have concentrated huntsman like, "guilds," better security, markets, all that goodness, as well as walls. So villages outside the kingdoms usually need dedicated huntsman protection (they often hire huntsman to get rid of grimm, like that guy a few episodes ago who thanked RNJR for killing the geist), or else they don't last long. MG and Oniyuri were both attempts to create bigger, more self sufficient, and sustainable "cities" outside the kingdoms (Vale for MG and Mistral for Oniyuri). But they both failed.

Hey so btw if you want to refer to the main villains Team, you can just say "Team WTCH" (pronounced Witch, as their names are Watts, Tyrian, Cinder and Hazel

Lopiena

this made me full on laugh, thanks for that bit of trivia ;D ...though I gotta say "Douche Canoe" is right on up there!

Such a cool full circle moment to have you finally get to the episode that has the first song you reacted to

Just love these words from Ironwood. "She's the only one making sense around here". Looking back on these words from him... They hurt. This scene is great - among all these rich and happy people who don't care about Vale and what happened, among all these people, there is one lonely soul unable to do that, unable to be happy like them, because she knows the truth, she has seen it. These people being happy are empty, they're not making any sense. Only someone who faced the harsh reality can react in the "right" way : Chaos. No order, just an emotional burst that can't be contained... despite the fact her father would like her to. Sometimes, hurting is more right than feeling good.

They wear rose colored glasses of their own manufacture. People like that tend to be that unempathetic because they don't want to learn about the bad things that don't directly affect them. If I'd doesn't impact their immediate group of associates or wealth or standing they want to make it seem smaller than it actually is. Also they don't necessarily have a point of reference. Their entire life has been mostly good, so if the worst thing to happen to you is you ruin an expensive suit, how much worse is the loss of lives?
