any time my friend brought home a boy that was attractive and charming her dad HATED him, the average and normal guys he was fine with, I think it's that he was afraid the attractive and charming ones would talk her into doing things

I really REALLY love how they let Blake's ears be expressive now. But when you think about that in relationship to V 1-3.... Oh man how PAINFUL must that have been? It hurts if you have to keep a limb stiff for a little while for whatever reason. Now imagine having that limb tightly bound when they naturally move as freely as Blake's ears. Yeowch. And yaaaaaaaas best mom and dad, Kali and Ghira. I love Kali so much. The fandom seems to like portraying her as a serious combo of Silk Hiding Steel/Beware the Nice Ones trope... Basically she's super mild mannered but she could utterly SLAUGHTER you if so she chose to. Also Shipper on Deck Kali is hilarious (even if I'm not a BlackSun shipper)

Don't know if you caught it David. But it was revealed here that. Ghira (Blake's dad) before becoming the cheiftan, was actually "high leader" of the White Fang. Meaning... Blake's dad is the one who created the original White Fang, the equality seeking and faunus defending group. This is what Blake meant in volume 1 when she says she was "born into it". Her father is the one who created the group. And also she did mention that the leader stepped down and a new leader took his place. Sienna Khan.

Btw if you want to know who Blakes parents are based on, as well as who Sienna Khan is based on whenever she appears. I'd love to tell you because it is quite interesting.

Funny story that.... It was the exact opposite for one of my ex-girlfriends' parents. They started off fond of me but as I grew closer, the mother grew to despise me while the father never stopped being crazy about me. He thought I was the nicest kid. (I mean, I was.) I think she was threatened by me and also the fact that I was kind of poor and not very successful. Reasonably, she probably saw me as a threat to her daughter's safety and well-being but ultimately how she handled it isn't the right way. I won't get into any details but the animosity was never expressly stated but was not well hidden by any means. But I digress.. That's my answer to your question. To this day I hope they're doing well, for the sake of them as a whole. The girl and her father deserve the best...and while I can't see eye to eye with the mother... She does too.. Albeit with a chill pill attached.
