Hi all how are you guys doing.
This last 2 weeks I was mainly solving the graphic card crash for AMD RDNA2/3, OGZ has several features for DX11 but AMD RDNA2/3 somehow forces the game to run on DX12 and crashes the game.

I'm sorry because this time the post has to be more about the information than progress report and be a free post, I also did some updates for the game btw.

I'm gonna take this as a chance to discuss about the lore and world building of the game, so spoilers alert.

Groundzeroes Universe:
OGZ will be set around the year 2100s-2150s after a nuclear conflict on Earth, the First Corporate War and the fall of the richest corporation of human's history, the NET.

Mankind is dying brought to ruin by corporations, Earth is considered a dead planet and most human colonies are dead, this mankind’s last generation.

S101-S105 and its hidden planet:
S101 is on one of the hidden planets of Our solar system, not too far from Earth.
S101 is a home to highly developed, industrialized and agricultural rich colony city, with cutting edge technologies, heart of the last generation of mankind.
S101 is being governed by a tyrant dictator with corporations as her partners.
S101 is rich in resources, has the strongest military techs and highest military budget of the current era, enough to rebuild Earth in a few decades.
S101 also has ongoing internal conflicts between the people and its government, this will lead to its own downfall.

The Inner War, Corporate War and Mysterious Outbreak:
After a year of civil war between laborers and government forces on S101, S104 colony is destroyed, most of S101 becomes an active warzone and the government is in total collapsed.

Two superpowers, known as Silicon Colonial Enterprise (SCE) and Ultracorp Industries (UI), join the conflict on opposite sides, but soon afterward a mystery outbreak spreads from the labor camps, without any symptom, the first half of outbreak had just begun.

During the first half of the outbreak, SCE and UI deploys several medical teams and airdrops, build field hospitals and military outposts, helping those who are suffering from the civil war and the mysterious plague. In the wake of the outbreak, the civil war seemed to be over, until these 2 superpowers started to claim their territories as their own. The goal of helping civilians was slowly fading away and instead they started to seek more resources on S101, for their own good, preparing for another war: the Second Corporate War until they both threatened each other with nuclear weapons which eventually led to the same conflict as the old Earth: this was the Third Nuclear Conflict.

During second half of the outbreak, everything seemed to get more stressful as SCE and UI retrieved (and abandoned some of) their assets and properties from S101 including field hospital and outposts, preparing for the full-scale war. The epidemic was getting worse as nobody seemed to care about it anymore until the outbreak started to go out of control: no treatments, no cures, no foods, S101 was left behind.

S101 is now completely isolated from the other colonies as every highway, network system and train stations are completely cut off from the outside, quarantine walls were built and there is no way out. Several private military companies deployed their mercs and you, a nameless mercenary, into the battleground to serve both SCE and UI, but you are on your own, you can serve the corporations or just try to get out from S101 in one piece.

Update
I've updated the Dynamic Camera Positioning System for the narrow environment and fixed a few bugs/issues and that's it (I was mainly solving the AMD RDNA2/3 vs Dx12 crash)
I've also updated the cave and now the cave is completely dark with no fake light.

Plan about H scene and H gameplay:
Now I think about it, with the new rework H scene system. Some of H scene will still use the same trick (camera fade) but there will be sequence where you can see your operator being dragged away by a monster for a few seconds, just to give you more immersion.
Also intelligent mutants will not start H scene right after you failed QTE because they will capture your operator and bring you to their nest first. Feral mutants will start H scene right after you failed QTE because the feral mutants are not so intelligent but both intelligent and feral will bring a victim into their nest.
There will be a difference between feral's and intelligent's sequence, intelligent sequence will be just they drag your operator into their nest while feral will have additional sequence where they rip your cloth apart and then start H scene and then drag your operator into their nest.

The differences between 'Feral' and 'Intelligent'
Feral will be mainly refer to mutated animals and insects and they are less intelligent than human beings.
Intelligent will be for mutated humans, they will be able to use traps, tools or even weapons to fight against enemies, some of intelligent mutants will play with or outsmart the victim before the assault as for example.

Note that all of the H scenes and struggle sequence will be reworked from ground up with much more serious elements and darker tone.

Art and what to expect:
Here are the building models I'm working on right now (3 days of both designing and modeling), this is still far from being done but these buildings will be the base of the building systems of OG

After these models are done, I'll start to retopology it and then texture it as the final part before importing into the game engine. If Building and Outpost systems are done, phase 2 PoC is ready.
