I found it really interesting that the Crone was testing Graydon. She was testing his temper, but also actually testing him when she said “show me” and being impressed by his passion. I hope we see more of whatever he was possessed with as a kid as I feel it’s now obvious that’s why he’s now with the Wyrm. I love that they included young Val Kilmer in that ending illustration before the book closed. 🥹 Overall I will say I enjoyed the show and I’m looking forward to more. I loved that I didn’t leave feeling heavy and bogged down by needing to know the lore. Each episode was a fun ride, but now that it looks like we will (hopefully) get vol 2 & 3, I’d love more backstory on these characters and direction on what’s next. The only aspect of the show I couldn’t get used to was the music. I prefer more epic adventure orchestral music or even a version of what Ramin Djawadi did for The Westworld (orchestral covers of pop music), but I could deal with it.

Eight episodes in and I think I'm getting used to Kyle not intro-ing with "Hello There".

6/10 finale. Boorman, Jade, and Graydon carried. Everyone kept saying "Wyrm" incorrectly. Kit is awful at tending to her Dad's sword. Still covered in nicks and dents. Borrow your girlfriend's whetstone. Kit, shut up and let you dead Dad talk. Smart mouth brat. The minions that have been chasing them the whole season just disappear mid fight and are never seen again. Again, terrible song choices. The crone being cgi instead of practical. Killing but then not killing the Bard, Graydon. The Snyder Superman effect. Does the Phantom Menace exist in this universe? Or Cirque du Soleil? Why is everyone spinning in battle?! The post credit scene. Willow accidently made that 2 headed beast. It's not part of the world naturally. It being there is just nostalgia bait.

32:58 I will continue reject the notion of GoT being the standard for fantasy properties. Especially with how bad it's last two seasons where.

KyleKatarnChannel

Maybe not as a standard of quality but you can't deny that audience expectations were forever changed after GoT. No main character was "safe"

Tristan N Milner

Rogue One also did the no main character is safe as well. In my opinion, Rogue One did it better but GoT had more people watching cause of boobs and gore.

Post series thought: the previous wearer of the cuirass was a man which lead to the cuirass keeping the male body shape. Does that mean it will keep Kit's feminine physic for the next wearer?

KyleKatarnChannel

That's an excellent question. It was originally made for a boy so I wonder if that's just the original cuirass shape and it reverts back when not being worn. Would be cool if it just kept Kit's form though, like "memory armor"

Woah, I can't believe I didn't notice that the minions straight up vanished mid fight haha. As for the two headed beast, fun fact: it's called an Eborsisk and it actually is part of the natural world. I spend my whole childhood thinking Willow simply mutated a troll into a monster but in fact he transfigurated it into a different type of creature that also exists

KyleKatarnChannel

Well that makes one of us! haha we had to re-do the intro every single time because I went "hello the- umm, whats up guys!"

KyleKatarnChannel

You're totally onto something, the Crone essentially talent scouted Graydon when she saw how hard he was willing to fight. Val Kilmer in the credits was perfect!! I think the music is a common thread in people's criticisms and I wouldn't be surprised if they toned it down for a second season

Even with how bad the writing of the last 2 seasons were, it's impossible to deny that GoT set a benchmark in the production of TV shows.
