YES! I'm so excited about this! While different people's opinions on the show varies widely - I love it. I think you probably picked up on this, but the nature of the conflicts in this show are much different than the original series. We start to tackle more complex, mature themes and the nature of Korra's growth is less singularly focused on her mastery of the elements (given she's said to have mastered 3/4). I can't wait to hear your thoughts on how this show progresses!

this is hype. ATLA is my favorite show of all time, but it was when Korra was airing that I began watching live, week to week. This show will always have a special place in my heart and I'm excited to be here for your first time experience.

I haven't watched enough of the show to qualify this yet but my sense is that the fanbase views ATLA and Korra similar to Clone Wars and Rebels. Korra is the Rebels, not as beloved as TCW outright but with some loyal fans of its own

(Commenting on an older upload, I know) but man, I'm so glad you enjoyed Korra's cockiness as well as the updated world! When I first started the series, people told me that I would hate Korra because she was already strong and she was cocky and honestly, I loved that. Korra is already very nearly a fully-realized avatar. Aang was from the pacifist air nomads. They're completely different people! If you can put that aside (as you seem to have) you will enjoy the series. The changes to the world put me off at first but that's because I jumped into TLOK a few hours after finishing ATLA for the first time and it was super jarring. By the end, it had completely grown on me and I might even enjoy this series more than the original.
