so some background-

001's  breakdown was a quiet one. he stopped doing anything one day. stopped moving, stopped reacting, became immobile. he was limp the first day, less and less responsive till eventually he is bed bound. the weight of his responsibilities, the gnawing of his emotions, the appetite of his enslavement went all in smoke.

like what 003 said, the gears kept turning till they didn't any more. so 001 is in bed, assumed fast asleep or in a sleep like state. maybe even a coma. this was a few weeks of 001's abrupt halt. as you can see, 003 talks to him. talks to him alot, and is a primary caretaker to 001's physical condition. he keeps the bed sheets clean, the room tidy, and fills the air with senseless chatter.

002 is off working double or triple shifts and is hardly home, unable to bear the sight of a frozen 001. he will come in later.

007 also working to make up for the vacancies is upset and angry at 001 for leaving them all to dust. but deeply worried all the same. he will aslo show up later.

to 007... it seems like 001 is dying.  everyone is kinda thinking that  in some capacity.

irl 001 is not dying, just... processing. but its overall a difficult time.

no one knows if 01's is also filled with demons and he's fighting them on the inside, or he's liberated and enjoying the escape while it lasts.
