DIVINITY: 002 wounds (Patreon)

after the first shocking drill of ammunition tests, over time he became very accustomed to the process. for his excellent behaviour, he is often taken cared of, such as given respect, praised, and given gifts and breaks. 

this was only possible due to the length of time he desperately obeyed. how he became less emotional as desired by the humans, and appeared more cold, but very polite. 

yes he would still flinch and all, but much less often. he braces internally and calculates how much he will feel based off the weapon, trajectory, distance, and type of ammunition. later on do they tell him to avoid artillery, so that he developed evasive skills in real time combat. all the numbers are trained for that, so they always need either 001 or 002 to observe the other numbers. (the numbers can runaway after all, they are most disobedient when it comes to this type of test, and it was often used as punishment once more numbers started to exist. )

002 was able to advocate for sliiiiigghhtly better conditions, such as clean clothes and hygiene. while the numbers don't emit smells and are of neutral or pleasant aroma, the desire to be clean is strong with 002, which he thinks will boost the moral of the other numbers. with this, it did indeed made the numbers feel better. 

he also advocated for books and taught numbers lots of things, which helped the numbers develop at least something to do off duty, if they have time at all.

like all numbers in their fledgling days, he cried a lot.  cried in front and in hiding of other people. but because he was so compliant, they would kinda console him, which he actually hated. over time he became disgusted over human touch. since all they meant is fake affection and hypocrisy. with his reading skills and time to even read at all, he learned many things on ethics and morals and philosophy. all of which reinforced his opinion on humans, their hypocrisy, and their desire for cruelty, control, and war. especially seeing how they treated the other numbers that were less than perfectly obedient. hell 001 was a great example.
