divinity: 007 and 002 (Patreon)

002 follows the rules and 007 breaks them for fun.

due to 002 having a crippling fear of being punished and being in any way 'bad' he formed a perfectionism behaviour. the idea goes that if he does everything perfectly, the humans won't have anything to punish him over. because of this, he was considered a ''good number'. he was afforded some better treatments at the cost of his mental state. one of the good things he was given was more access to the other numbers, in fact, he was even teaching them. the humans wanted a good 'role model' and 002 was perfect for the job. perfect, behaved, and well skilled. but 002 had many run ins with 007.

now 007 was the joker, the sadist, the 'speak my mind' type of number. from birth he was a rebellious one. he always called humans out, had loud opinions, and was very smart and sly. in terms of ingenuity, he was on par with 005, but in terms of creativity, he was his own league. he was great at talking and great at pining things around. 

this made him a scapegoat. the other numbers both envied his bravery but also hated the fact that his rebelliousness also came at the cost of them. and the one who had the biggest problem was 002. he was being punished for being unable to control 007, a natural born teen incarnate. and 002 feared and despised punishment, less a stain on his reputation. so both of them were like borned enemies. 

007 was the scapegoat for many problems, if a human was in a bad mood, the other numbers believed 007 had something to do with it. if a machine was broken, 007 likely caused some shit to ruin it. if the schedules were messed up, somehow 007 got in and played with it. 007 was sneaky, sly, and holds huuuugee grudges. 

he was hardly controllable, and the only thing that made him behave was the general opinion of him by the numbers. he wanted to fit in, but doesnt want to ruin his own self expression. however this was exactly the problem and he had to balance his hijinks with the behaviour he needs to display for the other numbers to even tolerate him. 

thats why 002 and 007 had such a huge scuffles, 002 was the perfect one, while 007 was the messy, rebellious one. both of them were envied and hated for different reasons. for 002, it was because he was so good at doing things, tolerating pain, putting in extra effort, over all a star. this was also what made the numbers kinda dislike him, they believed he was given golden treatment, even if that godlen treatment meant 002 was allowed to read more books or have a bigger room. truly, 002 wasnt given a proportional amount of care compared to the level of effort he made to be perfect. the standards just kept getting higher for him, and for nothing. 

still the other numbers were envious of the other humans being nicer in general to 002, even though it was just because 002 was being obedient. 

007 was liked and hated for his opposite attitude, making humans lives worse by playing with them, but also causing misery for all of them.  how 007 handled all those punishments and still retained his core traits was a miracle. 007 was that much of a grudge holding, going out of his way to make a point, type of joker. 

post freedom, 007 made good friends with 005, the strategist, who learned both from human and 007's own manipulative and incredibly smart strategies, both mental and physical. 005 was the strategist and while he envied 007's snake like and clown like behaviour, he also hated that 007 often ruins the carefully articulated plans of 005 during the lab days. after freedom, only then can he appreciate 007's intelligent plays. 

005 also hated and liked 002. partially because 002 taught him and gave him incredibly good books to read, sparking his joy of knowledge, he also hated him because he saw through the facaded of 002. that 002 was perfect because of fear. which made 005 like him less, since the reasoning wasnt as logical as he prefers. there are many logical reasons to be the top of the top, but also 002 was going too far to be perfect in proportion to the benefits he was getting. it maade him look desperate. 

005 became skilled at analysis from observing these too, and while he had many negative opinions then, post freedom made his recontextualize the struggle it was during those times. 002 was desperate and understandably so, 007 was rebellious and understandably so too. and all the other numbers who made their own ways to cope and move through the struggle that is the lab days, also understandably did so that way. 

it made an otherwise cold person, a little less cold post freedom. even now 005 realized his behaviour was also molded by the humans, making him turn into a cold machine just like what they wanted, and he too, shut off his emotions as a way to cope with the lab. he was like the rest of them.
