all injuries sustained are always healed, so no matter how bad they were treated, it was as if they had never been hurt.

im thinking that early on the numbers were pitied against each other using individual and collective punishment. many of the numbers were all seperated from each other and only saw each other on rare occasions. this led to many miscommunications and ideas festering. the humans took adavantage of all their weaknesses and began causing resentment.

001 was forced to hold down the numbers for the ammunition tests, or else all of them will be shot at severely and isolated with no ammenities, zero would be at risk for their medicine and care as well. 002 was forced to do the same, fearing the aspect of punishment and disappointment itself, as the feeling of being less than perfect started to transcend everything. however this came at a cost of being hated.

it hurt both 001-002 very badly, seeing how the numbers grew to resent them for making them endure such things. but those numbers too were forced to do similar things. such as overseeing certain trainings so that if one of the numbers went out of line, the others would be quick to squash it. it was individualistic and savage, which was exactly what the humans wanted. 007 was feeling the worst of it, as he both wanted so badly to be with the numbers, but also felt soo betrayed that they abandon him. he even thinks that because of his lack of skill is why they dont support him. making what humans did, an individual fault instead.

but zero interfered, connecting with the numbers over time, making sure that zero themself will not be outed of their abilities before anything else. 001 through 003 were connected, and were communicating their pains, eventually the rest did too. this was when the numbers actually compared notes with each other, what humans said to them versus what actually happened. all this was caused to start strife between them, and it was successful. with lots of work, they were able to form a semi united front and realize first hand how much they were lied to. and because they were united, the collective punishment and the resulting anger was directed towards humans instead.

im thinking that zero connecting to the numbers were a slow process, as the more numbers knew, the higher the risk zero would be outed. so the had to be sure that zero was safe to extend a hand, or if the situation got bad enough that intervention was needed. the first few numbers were safe, but later on it became harder due to isolation and hard work schedules. zero was also in and out due their mobility and pain. using their ability isnt the easiest when doing it for long periods of time. but zero gets better with it over time, just now zero is also battling their own demons while this was happening.

to this day, some strife is still lingering. such as 007 feeling anger towards 001, and 005 battling his issues with 003's gentle nature.  001 feeling so much guilt that he overworks himself alongside 002, to 'atone' for their sins. 003 feeling guilt over his personality, thinking he causes problems. 006 having trust issues with the older numbers, thinking they'll abandon him. 004 having a hard time believing what people say, and making sure his issues are hidden so they are kept safe from being used against him (ie his super dangerous coping mechanisms). 002 feeling like his inability to disobey out of fear cost him his relationships. he feels guilt that he chose 'himself' like a selfish person. (instead of the reality that survival instincts arent to be blamed and their situation was practical a lose lose. he would be blamed either way, and it will be worse if he doent obey, so the choice was already made.)

though none of these are their fault. as they were in a situation where it was hard to even live normally and with morals. where killing and disposability was normalized, threats and abuse was common, and a strict code of discipline was enforced, it was made to break relationships.

added an extra for 002, but i didnt want to draw a comic due to my current lack of skill it so i just doodled the idea. this was referencing his first ammunitions endurance test.
