they also live in forests or areas that have weeping willows or willows in general, but they can also be found more likely populating abandoned gardens. they themselves are attracted to pretty things, as well as making themselves pretty. They sing to each other in tunes that follow disruptive to harmonious tones. their nuetral expressions are often melancholic and they take great pride in their strides, sometimes even appearing floating in their long gowns.

the are considered ominous or auspicious, depending on the tunes they sing. Sometimes some willows will live with fancy folk, to enjoy their luxury in return for their tunes and good fortunes. They require great maintenance, at the behest of the willow, even though they are somewhat hardy.

its more likely however, that they live in solitude than with humans. singing tunes and whistling about, encountering and courting each other in dances and gifts.

they are artisans, dancers,  and singers more than anything else.

I really enjoy the designs on their bark as well as the jewelry! I love how the willow symbolize things relating to loss/mourning/grief but also rebirth/endurance/good luck which shows us how they're not inherently exclusive ^^ ( I wonder if this would mean they have the type of culture that celebrates death or views it more transitional than final?) I also like to imagine them gathering their yellow flowers into a bouquet for courting or the idea of healing shaman willows. Also hanging around water, maybe it becomes a social spot for them. Your design makes them wispy yet hardy much like how they are irl! but also ngl I saw lower right pic and went "Hatsune Miku!??"

Ooh their idea on death sounds interesting 0.0 it could be that they see it as a transitional form or also a celebration, weeping as a bonding ceremony and decorating their dead, (since dryads have a long lifespan but aren’t immortal… well I’ll be modifying this idea to be proportionate to a trees life cycle, some will be effectively immortal haha) making sure the bodies they left behind recombine with nature along with all the little trinkets they loved. Maybe even a whole “graveyard” of trinkets that belonged to the deceased as a form of remembrance. The water being a social spot is cool too, as well as shamans for the fortunes their tunes may bring (or not haha) They may also sense the vibes of the area and can tell you it signify doom or something. Like a vision, or with their cryptic whistling
