And probably the very maybe… even posssible! dating vladd and Jonathan. Essentially in a polygamous relationship. drac has an important part of the story, especially later on, as the first informant of the rebellion. He knew the inner workings of politics in purebloods high-society. He is in a family with lots of financial backing, roots and connections everywhere and possibly an official arms dealer. So he knows and has the acess to help the rebellion.

loooong story— read if you want!

how he, a purebloods got into the rebellion? To overthrow the royal family who represents him and his associates? Well he isn’t actually liked. He’s a pureblood who was shamed and abandoned in high society. When the parents had drac, he looked incredibly unique. from the fact that for generations the family have been looking outside for other suitors in marriage, which introduced diversity and also, removed hereditary disease (intermarrying consequences) (this was considered… different from what purebloods have been doing in this area. From the false ideology that their power comes from their own blood, and the only way to preserve it and to keep it ”pure” is to intermarry family members) (but in modern times this became more and more taboo. the world knew better. drac’s family was one of the few who stopped long ago and seamlessly fit modernity).
drac  was one of the first to look different. The parents paraded him as a child of the future, what purebloods are, back to being our truest versions.  Or whatever To garner praise and interest. They also expected him to be a strong, powerful pureblood like vladd, the royal family’s icon. he wasn’t. In fact, drac was simply mortal. he had no intense power, skill, or speed. He was smart, but to them, that wasn’t as Important, It’s expected. It’s likely that drac will live long, but that also didn’t matter, neither that he was healthier, and wasn’t getting problems like his peers did at his age. Like vladd had (GI issues)

drac was just a mortal, vampire.  the family was mocked for creating just a false image, all bark but not bite. A child looked like one thing, but was nothing but an empty paper bag. Drac was quickly isolated, his appearance made him stand out, his teeth were different, his eyes were different, he had a tail. His blood was blue but his markings were red. He was shamed in all social circles for being a disappointment, and his parents looked away. Even called a freak. Drac was though, the only child they had. Despite his social disappearance, he was still made to be an heir of the family’s fortune. Though they refused him any publicity.  A shadow CEO essentially.
drac started to hate vladd, and hate the purebloods who compared him. vladd was always used against him. Vladd was better, prettier, stronger. Vladd was an icon, while drac was a fake vampire. Look at him, he speaks so well, unlike you who always curses. Vladd has manners, vladd has charisma, vladd is an athlete! Vladd is beautiful. Vladd is better. Bette than you.
drac developed an inferiority complex, while vladd was none the wiser. Drac had a distorted perception of vladd, and of everyone around him who bullied him. And so, drac found a way to take it out in him.  (And by extension royal family)

early on, he heard one thing. One thing he can use against vladd. the fact that vladd is an icon, specfically, an empty husk! A dumb boy, who only knows to do what others tell him! so drac as a young teenager, mocked vladd. it gave him an in, to a world that shamed him. Using vladd‘s ignorance, drac found ways to belittle mock and hurt him, even right infront of him. Drac essentially made vladd‘s position in the royal family an open secret. And everyone now loves to mock vladd, loves to play word tricks to the pretty boy with an empty head.
to say this damaged vladd was an understatement. the problems at home hurt him, but now the world is against him too. Vladd only found out later that he was being mocked, and no one actually cared for him. He had to harden up what little soft skin he had. The world spoke in tongues and he had to learn, on his own, what that meant. And drac, the starter to this fire, was vladds enemy.  Vladd never forgot what drac did before the mocking could no longer keep him in society. They were teenagers when this happened, but vladd has never since been able to recover. and this version of vladd, even if it was mostly true at the time, kept on forever.
and drac soon realized, nothing would ever allow him a home in pureblood society. this was fleeting, and drac was once again an outsider.
drac’s knowledge of the world helped him leave forever, and Jonathan soon found him.
drac for revenge, for a home, for a world to be better, became part of the rebellion in its infancy.  Drac soon shrugged off what he did to vladd, and only remembered this distortion of the prince.
well, even that position changed

vladd joined the rebellion. They met, and vladd tried to kill him. (Joking… ish) rocky rocky start! Drac found that vladd had a relationship with Jonathan! Who he looked up to. a free (lol really) thinker, like him. Vladd was already taking the position of informant, spy, and networker. drac can’t even say he was the only pureblood anymore. So drac who forgot, or refused to remember, still hated vladd. While vladd, deeply remembers drac’s injustice.
oh god, they were partners in crime.
roomates!
jonathan saw that they have a history, he simply watched. Cus he aint interested in the issues of what clearly is between them, to now involve him.
drac starts fights, vladd finishes them. Vladd at some point tells him at point blank what he did, and how it ruined the only hope he had. Drac tried to defend (calling him the perfect prince, blah blah blah, and drac shamee), but vladd continued. like a screaming match, vladd won over, and told him he has no right to argue. vladd made sure to tell him, what he had going on in his life, who he only told Jonathan of. But that, wooo boy, drac did not know.  Home life, abuse, life issues,  vladd laid it out and walked out.
but they still had to work together.  Jonathan was now worried but vladd told him not to intervene. He went to drac, and he said the same to Jonathan. now he really can’t do anything about it.
after the fight, drac and vladd continued on their information gathering, becoming public “friends“ And having to act like they weren’t in a huge deal.
drac after some hard thinking, stop fighting vladd as much, realizing just how much he antagonizes him, and vladd almost never starts fights. drac finally, unequivocaly apologizes. Vladd doesn’t accept it, and drac understands.  vladd started to feel different, but only told him in passing that “words aren't What I want”

so drac told him he’ll show him. Fighting less, working together, asking for help. Drac really fought to not say mean things, since he’s so used to hating vladd. so used to only hearing the bad things vladd said back. you know, vladd has since been growing past what drac did, but he never particularly liked him either. knowing What drac went through, isolation and shame, they could’ve been friends even. they spited each other the whole time during the partnership,

and begrudgingly agreed help, like vladd teaching drac makeup, social skills, manners (for meetings and events, where it was crucial to blend in). Drac providing him knwoledge of the world, politics, names, history.  drac realizing how hard it is to navigate social circles, media, and constant pressure to succeed. that vladd was forced here. Vladd wishing that he knew what drac knew, the freedom of choices vladd did not have. The freedom to yell, curse, and fight.

drac never wanted to admit he hurt vladd, never wanted to admit that he caused problems, and vladd never had a hand in his past.  vladd was an icon, but a folly too. A victim like him, but not an enemy.  Vladd had a hard time ever changing his view of drac, even giving in to the notion that he is better than drac, just to hurt him. vladd didn’t want to accept drac,  even when drac was releuctantly fun sometimes, and who cleaned up his messes. Who kept his word and accepts all his faults.

drac was good with Jonathan, and good with him, and wonders if he should never forgive drac. He knows (throughout the whole of their partnership) that he doesnt hold hatred to him, not anymore. He knows he did hurt him, but not anymore. He knows that forgiveness is his call to make, and drac doesn’t expect that kindness.  in one way or another vladd decides that he’ll forgive, but never forget.  An asshole but one he likes to be an ass back to.

hence the, maybe drac is dating them??? Vladd/drac has lots of chemistry, drama, and cool interlocking stories. Vladd/drac both know Jonathan, who works well to mediate the too. Jonathan shuts drac’s antics down effortlessly, and Jonathan is all mushy with vladd, who is a hoarder for comfort. drac brings out a different side to vladd, someone more unhinged, which excites him. someone to banter with, someone to talk with, and all to work together with.  Jonathan also needs his own support system, and if it Isn’t a loud mouth that takes no for an answer and the enabled one who can fulfill it, well who will get Jonathan to agree to a day off?? Maybe even some mental health breaks or vulnerability. It’s gotta be them! Drac knows Jonathan longer than vladd, from an angle vladd only heard in passing. (Early days of Jonathans rebellion, he was a slightly more agressive person, who took lots of risks for the team) (now he’s more subdued but works harder if not double the amount in paperwork, networking, and organization) (mans got trauma from the pressure to succeed, from the lives he had to take, and from being in a position of both influence and vulnerabilit). So like???   Currently undecided, but it’s fun to imagine! I’ll probably draw some fanon about them together.
