Demure by day and darling by night, the Aurora Bodice is a versatile addition to your mix-and-match wardrobe! Choose a classic look with the basic darted bodice or add the optional laced corset-style overlay, peplum, and sleeves to create the fantasy outfit of your dreams.

This gorgeous bodice can be paired with any of our Stanwyck-series bottoms like the Stanwyck Skirt or Lucille Trousers, and with the peplum it makes the perfect separate top, too. Don’t forget to watch the companion tutorial video to see how it all comes together!

I love using this pattern to create a see-through or lace "blouse" underneath the corset overlay. For our woodland stroll fantasy, I'm wearing a white and brown dotted swiss underneath a black linen-blend overlay (so Briar Rose!), and Susie is in a lovely cotton lawn underneath a pale blue linen-blend overlay.

But this pattern also makes a very sultry sheath dress! Susie goes vavavavoom in hot pink velvet, and I've underlined black lace with green silk faille for my sexy little number.

You'll also find the tiled file (for printing at home on A4 or letter size sheets and taping together) and the A0 file (for printing at a copy shop like pdfplotting.com). Please note that we now have two size blocks, so make sure to download the correct files for the size you're making. If you have any questions about which size to sew, don't forget to read our blog post with all the details!

xoxo,
Gertie

Lots of comments here with people complaining that this design isn't doing it for them. Since when does every single one of Gertie's designs have to appeal to every single person? I love it! A lot of her designs that other people love just don't work for me, but I don't feel the need to complain every time.

I think this is one of the most under rated Gertie patterns ever! The two darts are incredibly flattering, the puff sleeves are adorable, and when you do the overlay, it makes cottagecore dreams come true! I've made it almost 6 times now (with every variation) and adore it. This is by far my favorite Gertie pattern!
