Happy release day, Charm Scouts! I’m so thrilled to present Melisha's very first design, the Dandridge Skirt! I couldn't be more proud of her, and I hope you all love it as much as we do.

Inspired by the breathtaking Dorothy Dandridge in Carmen Jones, it's a '40's-style draped skirt fit for a movie star. It's perfect as a standalone skirt with the included waistband, or go full glamour by pairing it with the Lamour, Liz, Landis or Mariner Bodices. And the best part? It comes together in a flash, so it's perfect for that last minute holiday party!

Melisha will be guiding you through her project, so don't miss the video tutorial on our next post. You'll learn how to do a lapped zipper, my zipper of choice (I just love the true-vintage feel it gives a garment!).

Wondering about fabrics and supplies? Check out the written instructions at the bottom of this post for links and recommendations. You'll also find the tiled file (for printing at home on A4 or letter size sheets and taping together) and the A0 file (for printing at a copy shop likepdfplotting.com). Please note that we now have two size blocks, so make sure to download the correct files for the size you're making. If you have any questions about the new range, don't forget to read our blog post with all the details!

Check out our video for the #DandridgeSkirt in the next post!

Hope you love it!

xoxo,

Gertie
