PATTERN AND INSTRUCTIONS: The Swing Coat (Patreon)

Meet the Swing Coat! Inspired by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, this snuggly topper is just the thing to round out your wardrobe. I love the bell-shaped sleeves and chunky cuffs paired with the swingy shape; it just feels so dramatically luxorious to wear! The funnel-shaped neckline makes this project quick and easy to sew, so the coat comes together in a jiffy. Make it full length with in-seam pockets (extra points for making a dress to match your lining like I did with this Stanwyck Dress) or hip-length with cute patch pockets. This project can suit a variety of climates and seasons depending on your fabric choice: make it in cotton for a swingy beach jacket or in snuggly wool for a winter topper (read my tips in the instructions for making it even warmer with interlining). Don’t forget to watch the video to see how it comes together!
I hope you love sewing this project! Download the instructions and pattern files at the bottom of this post (note the separate files for A0 and tiled home printing; see the instructions file for more information) and make sure to watch the video in my separate post. Use the hashtag #swingcoat when sharing your makes. And don't forget to watch the video in my separate post!
xoxo,
Gertie
