I've been reading this manga for 25 years, Oda has been building the characters' personalities for 25 years. I found the changes that were made, which directly impact their personalities, to be very disappointing. There are many crucial scenes that were poorly executed, and the characters would never do those things, and that deeply bothers me. This Live Action is for people who have never seen the series, I can't watch it, I respect Oda too much for that.

I'd say purely as an adaptation it's not very good, since they changed a LOT. But with that being said I really enjoyed it and think it's great if you just don't take it too seriously.

I feel weird, I really didn't like the live action but it seems like the general consensus was it was great. I generally align with the general consensus so I wonder what I missed. Regardless good on people who enjoyed it.

TBH the anime is not made for being cut into such a short time frame, the best and most iconic scence and story bits are left out!
