That was a young Askeladd putting flowers on his mum's grave you didn't notice at the end there. Mods please share this with him: Vinland Saga is a monthly manga. Chapters are pretty short for a monthly, around 20 pages on average compared to 40 pages in other monthly manga. I read the manga monthly and although I enjoy it, I'd be lying if I said the weekly experience with the anime isn't better. I always feel the chapters don't have enough content every month so sometimes I wait 4-5 months when a few chapters pile up and binge them. If you think you would enjoy reading monthly, go ahead. I don't complain though cuz Yukimura's health is important so I'm still grateful we get 20 pages every month. The manga is ending in the next 1-2 years. The final arc has around 15-20 chapters left maybe. Personally would prefer you waiting a couple of years for the season 3 (normal waiting time for 24 episode seasons) but I understand if you can't wait. I'm friends with the translator of the manga by the way so if you do read it mangadex is the way to go. His translations are great, official translations aren't a thing yet worldwide but will happen soon

for me i will stick to the anime season 2 was worth the wait too after the incredible ending of season 1, since its mappa and i enjoy the music and the voice acting its definitely a wait for me and 2025 will come anyway (:

Instead of asking yourself whether you should read the manga, you should consider just not thinking about Vinland Saga until the next season drops, there's loads of other anime in between that will keep you occupied. That's how I cope with the waiting time.

Stick to the anime man. The pacing, music, and VAs make it worth the wait. Gonna be disappointed if you switch to manga on this one

yeah not gona lie another good anime we wont see reactions to in the future. He will catch up to the manga in 2 weeks and then no more vinland. sucks to see so many recommend the manga. season 3 announcement wont be hype knowing he wont react to it

I would recommend sticking to the anime. This is THE BEST adaptation of all time and I feel you get the most out of the story from it. I think in the meantime you could read something like Vagabond or Berserk to pass the time and you'll get to experience the other 2 of the Big 3 Seinen manga.

Resist the temptation of reading the manga, that's a normal reaction by the brain because it wants more of that vinland greatness ^^ but the manga CANT deliver the same amount; no music, no sounds, no animation, no colour, just think about it....

ALSO mods pls tell him if he will read the manga make sure he won’t spoil it in the other reactions like clover or hero ( cuz he constantly brings one piece manga events in those reactions) i know he’s doing it without thinking but at least tell him just to be in the back of his head in the future

IMO wait out for the anime. As you said it could be 2025 or even long but it could also be 2024 we never know. When i got up to date with the Naruto anime i read the manga and found it significantly made my enjoyment of the anime worse. Reading the events in the manga was entertaining but getting them scenes in the anime fresh with the voice acting and music definitely gave me much more enjoyment. For example if I was to say i got 100% enjoyment out of watching the Naruto anime before reading the manga then reading the manga only gave me about 60% of that feeling and then watching the manga I had read being adapted made the anime experience like a 70% because I already knew all the events about to happen. Since then I have stayed away from manga, the one exception that I want to read is Berserk because the anime recent adaptations for it were so bad and I can't see it having a good one anytime soon.
