I agree the flashbacks kind of mess up the pacing of the fights. I dont remember season 2 having flashbacks mid-fight, usually after the fights ended

I think that's mainly due to how many (relatively) new characters are involved in this fight. We got Uzui's backstory mid fight and the demon's after the fight, here we have two new Hashiras and Genya on our side, people that we don't really know. But I think it was necessary, this way I connect more to the characters and the action feels more impactful, at least in my opinion

it's true that kimetsu is full of flashbacks , but compared to S2 where they added so many fight scenes, this arc is pretty short so they are probably saving budget for what's coming next season or a movie or something.
