Also, uh, NO, this is not too much screen time for Stephy and Candy. How dare you! One of the things I most wanted out of any follow-up to THaL was greater insight into the Barbour/Salata household, and this chapter amply provided it. I like how it's loving and supportive, while also being indecent, bordering on depraved. (Thanks, Horen!) It's incredibly hot to think of Isa changing her own name for some frivolous Canon scheme, just after it's revealed that Stephy's going to be keeping all of her negotiated pay bump. That mixture of callous disregard for Isa's personhood and weirdly generous support for her happiness... man, I love that shit! I love how fucking weird it is! Great chapter, man.
