Howdy! Been working some more on Winners, part 3 of the series begun with Losers. It's a bit shorter than the last chunk, but I think it's a good beginning end point for a segment. I'm also excited to say that I've finally made a decision about Chanda's situation (i.e. whether she's a survivor, a loser, if so how did she lose, etc.). For the longest time, I explicitly avoided making a decision within a few parameters I'd set for myself (mostly to leave my options open). It probably sounds like lazy writing, and maybe that's a fair accusation. Really, I thought it was more important to be in Chanda's head space of uncertainty and anguish and terror and frustration and all that. If she didn't know, I didn't want to know. I think it helped.

But now I know.

Don't waste your time looking for spoilers or hints in here just because I yadda-ed about it. Just sharing a little behind the scenes. Here, I took a little break from my last couple school-based books with their day-by-day approach and let some time pass. It felt weirdly scary opening up and letting go of stuff, and no doubt between now and full novella release I'll realize a bunch of stuff I left unresolved in that time. For now, though, here's winners part 2 rough draft edition. (Spoiler: there WILL be typos. Brace yourselves.)
