OK, so for the record, I *did* have this completed by my original goal of Christmas, but Amazon only now approved it. (Some of you amazing folks have already gotten a copy before I even got the email!) So here it is, everybody, book 2 of the This Is Our Story saga, We, The Nighthawks.

Folks, I am so, so proud of this one. As many of you know, my books tend to be pretty episodic. I like to write what I hope will be an interesting/enjoyable chapter that can be picked up and put down with some satisfaction. This one does that, but I think it also tells a pretty cool story. I tried to step up my game here with more foreshadowing, twists, conflicts, feels, rages, all that good jazz. It is also WAY longer than the TIOS. Book 1 was 199 pages; book 2 weighs in at 364, so it's about 80% more book for you.

There's a whole plot teaser on the book page that gives a hint or two where it's headed, so I'll let you check it out over there. It's not really spoilery or anything, but for those of you who prefer a totally clean slate, I'll refrain from prefacing it here.

Up next, I'll be back to diversifying my time a bit, doing some commissions and some shorts as I get TIOS book 3 up and going. It's looking like this will be another trilogy, so we still have a ways to go.

I hope you fine people are having great holidays so far, and have an awesome new year! Thanks so much for your on-going support and encouragement, and a special thanks to the folks who had the opportunity to pre-read for me and gave me so much feedback and kind words. Looking forward to doing what I do for you in 2019, everybody!

Purchased and read. I found myself skipping most of the sex bits just to find out what happens next. Very well done.

Man, if you skipped most of the sex bits, it couldn't have been *that* well done. :D

HOLY SHIT. A++. Just a KILLER final third. I felt like I was in the final scene of Clue, just fucking gob-smacked at all the little things I'd missed, and it went on for dozens of pages. I'll admit, I'd been a little bummed at how little non-TIOS stuff had been coming out the last little while, but GOD DAMN. You have my permission (and monthly donation) to take as much time off as you need to get Part 3 out quickly. Just... just, GOD DAMN, man. Standing ovation.

Also, I just scrolled down to the $50 post for folks who got Chapter 13 early, and HOW THE LIVING FUCK are there not *at least 4 posts* from people losing their shit? Why are you all so blase about a magician showing you how they did their trick?!

I'm so glad you liked it! Thanks for the Amazon comment, btw -- I hear tell reviews are a big help, so I appreciate your doing so. I've had oodles of friends and family in town this week and last, but by this weekend I'll be hitting the ground running and firing up part 3 ASAP. I have several commissions to attend to, but this is definitely my next big project. And yeah, as for the chapter 13 reveal, I wasn't nearly so explicit in the novel itself. And probably won't be even in 13; it's nice to keep some things hidden behind the curtain. TIOS does have rules, but it's nice to leave a little mystery to what exactly it will and won't let the editing staff do.

It may not surprise you to find out I've spent a ridiculous amount of time not just combing through early chapters for little throw-away lines of dialogue that were actually huge clues to the novel's various stunning reveals (there's a sentence that ends a chapter that I was genuinely shocked I hadn't read more into), but also spending a dumb amount of "you should really be sleeping now, not just lying awake thinking about this" time trying to square up the internal logic of the last few pages: not looking for plotholes, but trying to puzzle out how different actions are working through the premise of the editing software. You've clearly done as much work building a framework for the characters to operate in as you have crafting sexy things for them to do in that framework, and that's what makes this a 5-star book for me. Keep killing it in 2019!

Purchased it on monday, finished already. Loving it. I have read a few of your stories on the EMCS and after reading chapter 2 of TIOS there I decided to go for it. And hell be damned if I'm not glad book 1 and 2 were out. One hardly ever gets tired of the sex scenes even when reading a few chapters in a row, one of the main weakness of erotic litterature. Really can't wait for part 3, but hey, comissions are compromises between the bear, his clients and his stomach. Becoming a patreon next month for sure.

Thanks! I have one more commission to finish before I dive into book 3. Hoping to make faster progress than I did on the last couple, but we'll see! My plot sketches always wind up being more guidelines than rules, so who knows.

Ok :-)

Read it and would recommend it to others. I could never get into our Hero because he comes across as such a whiny baby. I get that he might have some low self-esteem, but then he's supposed to be a champ as the editor-in-chief which I would have though would boost his sense of self. Our villain, though, now he's rather realistic. Maybe a bit over-the-top in his personality, but nothing that made it impossible for the reader to relate to him. We've all met guys like that, and I think a lot of "nice" guys would do as he did simply because the opportunity is too good to pass up. Everyone says "I'd never!!", but that's only because they know the opportunity will never present itself. :D What happens next? I'm holding firm where I'm at, so I won't find out until 3OS is finished. I have somethings I hope for, and I really like the subversive nature of the programing. If anything, I'd like to see more from the poor girls in Sex Ed and how the lessons are changing them outside of the class. They can't speak about what happens in the class, but I would think their actions and outlooks have to be impacted. Or does everything simply turn off when they walk out the door? I hate waiting to find out!
