Hey everyone!


I hope all of you Americans had a great Thanksgiving!

No GUI updates today, but I've spent the past couple of days fixing most of the problems with the Hat Kid SFM project from the last video (these fixes apply to all projects of course, not just this one in particular). The screenshots show a comparison between SFM (left) and PFM (right, rendered in real-time, not Cycles).

I've added support for bodygroups, scaling, material parameter overrides and fixed a few tenacious bugs that have haunted me for months. The lighting is also getting closer to what it looks like in SFM, but it's still not perfect.

Most of the remaining problems are due to missing asset files I don't have, or particles and parent overrides, both of which I haven't implemented yet.

There's one or two other problems which I haven't looked into yet, but I don't think it'll take up much time to fix what's remaining.


All in all I think it's already looking much better compared to my video on Monday!

I'll get back to work on the interface now, I believe I should be able to get quite a lot of progress done until next week, including all of the editors (full clip editor, motion editor and graph editor) if all goes well. I'll try to squeeze in some Cycles updates as well, primarily support for GPU-rendering.
