After not having my hair professionally done for about 10 months, HERE SHE IS!

I am ecstatic over this cut and color. Something about a shag feels like home now, as pink has for many years. My dark roots really grew on me (No pun intended!), but I didn’t like that harsh line between my new growth and the bleached pink area. I really like my dark hair as well and wasn’t ready to fully part ways with it, so we decided to throw in these babylights (yes, baby sized highlight) to lighten the root areas without needing all over bleach.

I wrote a little bit about how cutting off so much weight from my hair was like a spiritual experience last year when I first got a shag, and I def felt that today. (I haven’t shared that publicly yet because it got so long as I wrote, but maybe I will soon.) It felt so... freeing to not feel bogged down my grown out layers that wouldn’t do what I wanted.

I had also started questioning whether or not I wanted to keep fussing with the bleach and keeping my hair pink. Being more on the low maintenance side has definitely had its perks. Inside, I really feel like a pink haired person so I couldn’t part ways with that just yet. I think dark roots and pink and they’re gonna be my jam for a while!
