Hello, we have finally finished the pirate ship "The Menace" after restarting the project three times! But in my opinion the final result was worth the wait. It will have 52 parts (46 main ship and 6 wave base), but most of the mast parts can be printed together. And every part fits into a resin printer!

"The Menace" has playable interior. You access the bottom by removing the top part and you can also access the captains cabin. Keep that in mind and don't accidentally glue those parts together.

If you are using a resin printer, I would strongly advise not to print on the build plate directly. Printing on the build plate will deform the first few layers and you will struggle putting the ship together later on.

A quick building manual:

  • Print and build the bottom part of the ship and put is aside
  • Print and build the top of the ship, DON'T glue the top of the stern
  • You can place the top part on the bottom part but DON'T glue them if you want playable interior!
  • Print and build each mast individually
  • Glue masts on ship
  • Print and glue the Ragging, anchor and ships wheel
  • (Optional) Print and build the base
  • Print and place canons that are included in this download

If you have questions, you can ask in the comments or message me.

Hope you will like this ship. We definitely enjoyed making it. As always, comments and feedback are welcome. 😃

Thank You!

How big is it?

Have you thought about releasing things through my mini factory? To help with data storage and being able to download files easier?

epic_miniatures

The following are the assembled measurements if you print it without changing the scale. Width: 168 mm Length: 414 mm Height: 372 mm

Glitterwolf

That is just plain awesome!

epic_miniatures

Never thought about it to be honest. I am selling on MMF but didn't knew that you could release there. I will check how it works though.

Glitterwolf

Downloading was no problem for me. It as fast, I have had more trouble with others who use sync.

Glitterwolf

That ship is amazing, I'm looking forward to see what you come up with in the future. I have a resin printer and I love to be able to print good quality large pieces like this.

There it is! Absolutely worth the wait 😲

epic_miniatures

Thank you! And sorry again for the wait. We tried to make it faster but didn't want to deliver an unpolished sculpt either. But it is finished now and I am relieved a little. 😃

epic_miniatures

I have planned something for next month but I won't tell anyone until I am sure it will finish timely. Learned from my mistakes... 🤣

Holy Shit !

Glitterwolf

First that hut and the Wolf Sled and now this Ship, I love it. I'm happy I joined. I like my prints to be detailed because I paint for display, so I have a resin printer. Sadly this means no big buildings, ships etc. And now you did this! Awesome! Thank you so much!

Glitterwolf

One of my friends asks, if he joins NOW will he be getting the ship?

epic_miniatures

Yes of course. The ship will be available until the end of the month. So he will get Sets 03, 07, 08, this ship and the adventure module if he joins during this month. 😃

epic_miniatures

I have to thank you all for supporting us. The more support we get, the more we can focus on our passion of creating printable miniature models. If you are happy, we are also. 😃

Nice looking ship. Too bad my 3d printer is currently in maintenance mode.

Do you know the total volume of resin required for printing this beast?

Anonymous

This is actually a great question...😅 I hope someone answers haha

MrKenny

what happens to the not voted sets? I hoped roman/greek will win, but i think, this isnt gonna happen :D

Any estimate on how long it will take to print this with FDM?

epic_miniatures

Sadly I can't answer you that question since I don't own FDM printer. But I would suggest combining a few parts before printing on FDM. 😃
