Hello, my strange and wonderful patrons!

Welcome to your sixth instalment in the top-secret-itty-bitty Atelier Barbette vlogs, a series in which I've struck a Faustian deal with a lower demonic entity to distill terabytes of 2022 studio footage into the tasty digital tidbit you now behold*.

(*possible hyperbole; will neither confirm nor deny the verity of this statement at this time)

We're back in the studio with my conseil artistique Marie-Josée Gauthier for today's video. This one looks at how the opening-dress-sequence developed from my first week of December Residency to the last week of December Residency at the École Nationale de Cirque (courtesy of La TOHU's professional residency support program!), how it begins to get tied into the second section ('Ballerine'), and the technical hurdles yet to be hurdled-over (*shakes fist at upside-down-fast-spin).

You can look forward to your next episode arriving on Friday at 12pm EST.
Until then, stay strange and wonderful!

XO

The amount of control to keep a spin centered and flowing and well, beautiful, is really difficult! Bravo on your upside down spin progress!

So happy for you that you have the opportunity to work with Marie-Josée!
