As promised! A cheeky first sneak-peek at the inside pages of this labour of love - Slow Circus: Barbette.

Iโ€™m hard at work chugging away through making all the shipping labels for you pre-orderers โ€” and finishing up night-shoot-world on my stunt contract. Itโ€™s slow-going because Iโ€™m real tired and donโ€™t want to make errors, but itโ€™s going!

(Was the stunt job supposed to be done and over by now? You betcha.)

(Is it? Nope! )

(Has my body been whiplashing back and forth from night shoots / going to bed at 7:30am, and then half-shifting back to daytime schedule because weather-related reschedulings happen on the fly and the rest of the world functions in daytime hours and not vampire hours, and then having to try to go back to a โ€˜work from 15h00 to 07h00โ€™ schedule again the very next day? YES. ๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ)

TALK TO YOU SOON XOXOXOXO s

Hello! I got my copy of Barbette last week, and just found the time to read it cover to cover - and I adore absolutely everything about it. The cover's texture is *delicious* and the pages are sturdy without being stiff (another hint at the contrasting expectations viewers hold for aerialists?). The layout and design similarly balances the gravity of Barbette's life, your own existence in the world, and the research and work you put into this act, with the grace of both Barbette and yourself moving through space (society, as well as the air). Bringing in interviews with members of your team highlights the collaborative aspects of this work, and including snippets of past interviews from Barbette and others brings allows you to extend that collaboration across a century. All in all, both your act and this book are true pieces of art, and I'm grateful that you are sharing them with the world. You truly are a strange, wonderful creature ๐Ÿ’œ
