Show Notes:

Modern Horizon is…on the horizon (releases June 14th). WotC has announced that the set will only include cards that are NOT currently Modern legal. So, on this episode, we’re running down a list of our MOST WANTED REPRINTS.

And, to help us out, we’ve brought in Modern expert Alex Kessler (from The Masters of Modern podcast) to give his opinion on just how likely it is that our chosen cards will appear in the set.

Woah! I was super expecting a spoiler card episode. Now I'm super curious when your War spoiler will be. Still, always happy to see Kessle Run come on an episode, the dynamic between the three of you guys is always great to listen to and watch.

Honestly I feel that, if wizards reprints some cards that are legacy legal for modern that we use for Commander, it’s honestly a bad thing for the price of those cards long term. Yes with more copies in the wild, we will see prices drop, but long term with a huge format potentially needing 4 copies for each of their decks will drive the prices up for those cards making them less accessible for us. Thoughts?

It just depends on what the card is. If it's Teferi's Protection, it's good long term because the card is very unlikely to be used outside of Commander. If it's Force of Will, well that's gonna probably have the net effect of raising the price of the card in the long term. Those types of reprints may have the effect of reducing the card's price in the short term though, giving people a window to obtain it that they wouldn't otherwise have had. So it's hard to weigh all of that an definitively say "This is good (or bad)". It is what it is. -JLK

Anyone have opinions on Slivers coming back in Modern Horizons? I feel like Modern Horizons would be good to make slivers viable in modern. A lot of the good stuff (Queen aside as it's reserve list) is legacy and not really playable in modern. I think it'd be a prime target to get reprints to maybe make it more playable in modern.
