Love the Morton salt in the new set’s background

My friend played an icy manipulator, kismet, winter orb deck during ice age. I hated that deck. He passed away and I have an autographed version of each card in my collection. Thanks for reminding me. I’m off to build the most annoying edh deck in his honor. He would would love it.

So one of the most memorable games I've been in a player dropped a Perplexing Chimera and then kicked Rite of Replication on it. That game ended up being hilarious. People were just passing around chimeras as currency. I suppose you have to be in the mood for a game like that, but laughs were had by all.

I haven't been playing for very long but my most hated and annoying card to play against is approach of the second son and taymios journal and being new I lack the cards to counter this spell. So being able to just straight up win the game is OP.

These lists were absolutely spot on, I used to run perplexing chimera in My Roon of the Hidden Realms deck and it tilted my playgroup far too much. I also had torpor orb played against my deck and I couldn't draw my bant charm/krosan grip fast enough. I generally don't like cards that stop you from playing certain spells, e.g. Iona, Gaddock, Void winnower is another bothersome one. The problem I have experienced with Divining top is that it is often a convoluted response to a lot of problems ("I top in response, put this on top, draw with top, cast this spell to stop this spell or stem bleeding"). So a player will top sometimes multiple times, slowing the game whilst looking at the same 3 cards over and over.

Mesmeric Orb in Phenax, also I was wrecked by Rift the other day...

Can definitely agree about Torpor Orb, Blind Obedience and similar effects. Thankfully I haven't run into the others too much in my play group but I can definitely see them being a pain

I just became a Patron solely to address this episode. I can't believe Reverse the Sands does not get any mention. We have someone in our group who sits back the entire game and waits til his life is less than 10 and then switches every one's life totals. So cheap. So nauseating. And there's nothing you can do unless someone has a counterspell handy.

On a similar note of annoyance, i have a friend at work who always has Claustrophobia in his decks. Its so annoying to have that game winner hit the battlefield then get shutdown. He loves to couple claustrophobia with pacifism as well. You can escape it lol
