Waking the Servants (Patreon)

For vampires, there were many ways to retain the loyalty of servants, whether they had been roused from eternal slumber or dragged from some otherwordly domain, and Serana's approach was simply one of them. It would be close to midnight, well after the lady's work for the night was resolved, that she would come looking - stalking the depths of the castle where they rested in their lairs, awaiting her word.

The word, however, would never come. No command would pierce their minds, jolting them from torpor into activity, limbs roused to motion despite the protests of the body. Instead one lucky servant would find himself awoken by gloved hands and, invariably, nursing lips taking to his swollen member. Moments later, his coffin would creak under her rapacious appetite, and the others would instead slowly awaken to the noise of her wanton act, attitudes sour from the realization that, indeed, it was not their turn that night.

But there was always the next night. The accursed sun would claim its throne in the sky, and once it set once more then, maybe, their time would come. The cast of the dice was impossible to predict, but there were only so many servants, and the mistress' tastes seemed to shift with each passing day, so even the most pessimistic among them carried a spark of hope in their hearts.

After all, they had an eternity to spare.
