News: January 2022 (Patreon)

The new game’s development is going very well. This laptop is pretty slow at rendering, but is doing well enough. Renpy will be the chosen engine. It’s pretty easy to use so far. I have the intro, the main map, and part of the main quest done as of right now. There’s several placeholder images I’ll need to work on next.

SC will remain on hold for now as you might expect. I just don’t trust bringing my PC to this apartment to work on it. I take everything I care about with me in a box every time I leave. Call me paranoid, but after losing so much, I don’t want to lose what I have left.

Anyways, I’ll release the latest update of SC to the public alongside the first release of the new game to Patrons. From there it will continue with the usual 1 version behind for public and current version for Patrons at the end of every month.

So what’s the deal with the new game? You probably want some more info. I’m going to hold off on sharing the name, but it does have a pretty decent name. At least I think so. I’ll also skip sharing the intro as it would contain some major spoilers.

After the intro you’ll be thrown into a place called Vortex City. You’ll have a hefty debt that needs repaying before you can start using the various services of the city. (Which is convenient considering they won’t be implemented yet.) Said services will include things like body enhancements(robotic parts) and character customization(hair, outfit, etc.). You’ll be able to choose when you pay on the debt so you can still spend money on other shops and services.

The main quest can be started once you have access to the main map. I won’t share how to trigger it. You’ll have to figure that out on your own. At least the first part of the main quest will be in this release. In future releases the main quest will have you interacting with the various factions of the city, discovering romance characters, and uncovering a secret about the main character. That’s all I’m going to say before I end up spoiling something.
